Retired programmer of chemical making and manufacturing systems. I programmed the computers that make stuff, track stuff, control stuff, and generally do stuff. I've written code since 1972 and despise ATM machines and credit cards. One of my favorite movie scenes is in "The Matrix" where the Commissioner is standing on the balcony overlooking the cavern below and the Commissioner remarks to Neo "there are the machines that purify our water, make our food and clothing, supply our power, etc. and nobody knows how they work anymore". Well, I do, but don't ask because I've gone Galt!

The streaming channel I watched it on, FreeVee, had advertisements that almost seemed like part of the movie! We don't have to wait 500 years because it already reality, LOL! (self.ask the gulch)
