A villain's essay

This essay could have been written by Simon Pritchett -- life isn't worth living, better to have never been born! My jaw dropped as I read it, at least the parts I could stand to read. And this guy is an actual professor of Philosophy, teaching and writing books and spreading this cancer.
To quote the opening of the article:
"In 2006, I published a book called Better Never to Have Been. I argued that coming into existence is always a serious harm. People should never, under any circumstance, procreate"

Raise your kids right.
If you can't do that, contraceptives are not that expensive.
No, the government is not responsible for providing such things. Not even health care.
Everyone has a right to express an opinion but this one was not well thought out. I wonder if it is he that thinks You shouldn't exist and he is just covering those thoughts up by referring to himself.
Sounds just like a liberal to me.
Does he have any children? Has he had himself castrated?
Besides, in order to evaluate how a life can be, one should have some standard by which to make the evaluation. And what standard do you go by, if not the standard of life, and living in existence? Can non-existence ever be an ap-
propriate standard, before even starting?
End problem.

One can always change one's conditions if not just think differently. There are so many options, so many connections and so many mentors to engage.
There is no options in non-existence, not to mention, one might loose out on the experience.
True, there is no telling what the alternatives are like, nor is there any answer to the question, "will I know I don't exist". Pretty bizarre if not mind blowing to think about.
I have observed that life and especially conscious life plays a small role in the perpetuation of existence, therefore, one should take advantage of all that is available...there is always a bright side.
Am I being too optimistic?..maybe, I wasn't always. Much of the pain of my existence was my own fault and many mentors in my life helped me see that. We each can play a role, we each have an intrinsic essence to manifest.
If one is ugly, like I am now, or worse...Capitalize on it...be honest...people are likely to disagree when you proclaim it...laughing
Also...do you think Steven Hawking is good looking???...no he's not, but look at the values he's created and can reflect upon.
