Is Antifa exercising free speech or are they a terrorist organization? While I think there are times when violence may be justified or even necessary this group just seems to be out to create chaos.

The roots of political warfare run deep and long.

"Sun Tzu, (544 - 498 BC), a military strategist, wrote of the superior power of political warfare in battle."

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politic...

    and from comrade Lenin

"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."

    https://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/au...

Antifa is the transmitter of these ideas and not the cause.

"The intellectual leaders of the people have produced and propagated the fallacies which are on the point of destroying liberty and Western civilization. The intellectuals alone are responsible for the mass slaughters which are the characteristic mark of our century [20th]. They alone can reverse the trend and pave the way for a resurrection of freedom." Ludwig Von Mises Planned Chaos

It is sad that America is losing a war that few are aware is even being waged.

A CNN headline about Antifa is downright Orwellian Newspeak: "Antifa Seeks Peace Through Violence" (!!!!). Their rationale is they must stop hateful speech by any means necessary.

When I was a child, I learned the simple phrase "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." We're dealing with a generation that's been brainwashed into the idea that words cause physical injury. I'm not talking about psychological hurt, or inciting to violence, but real personal damage as dangerous as being hit with a club!

Antifa seeks to terrorize anyone who wants to say anything with which they disagree, by promising real physical injury on the offenders. That is a terrorist group without a doubt.

There are really so few Antifa (terrorists) at this point. The majority of regular patriotic citizens still sit back and take it all in expressing their discontent and concern, then they go about their own daily routine until the next news cycle. Suppose they gave a war and no one came. Suppose the silent majority got really tired and fed up with Antifa and all these other destructive demonstrators and actually became the majority. You get what you sow. That's just a combat veterans opinion, I could be wrong. Remember, we're really dangerous people.

I find it interesting where I live now, these terrorists wouldn't even think of doing a protest here. The community would run them out before they got started. Some of them might actually disappear permanently. I agree with the left that veterans are dangerous people and Antifa and other lefties know it, so why deny it.

According to what me dino has heard and read, at least the core leadership of Antifa and previous protest groups such as Occupy Wall Street are being paid to create chaos by socialist globalists.
The name, George Soros, always crops up as chief among the hard cash enablers.
The convoluted for completely twisted Antifa anti-fascist fascists are the same kind of controlled mob rabble that our dear Comrade Lenin once called "useful idiots."
Especially useful are the unpaid idiot joiners who can't wait to put on masks and start swinging clubs,

I am always suspicious of protestors that don't have a clear message or goal. They are just out looking to hurt people.

Thugs think hurting people and destroying public and private property is fun.
I'm sure the Antifa socialist drivel is just an excuse for many.
I'm equally sure that who is paid and who is not paid to act as low level terrorists is a mixed bag.

ERIC HOFFER: "The less justified a man is in claiming excellence for his own self, the more ready he is to claim all excellence for his nation, his religion, his race or his holy cause. ....
A man is likely to mind his own business when it is worth minding. When it is not, he takes his mind off his own meaningless affairs by minding other people's business."

Especially when you don't have a job and George Soros will pay for your black hoods and give you money.

I can't really agree with the "violence may be justified" part. We have a right to voice our opinion - no matter how stupid or ignorant. We don't have a right to violence or the initiation of force, however. These idiots cross that very important line. And once that line has been crossed, they deserve no protection.

Violence in self-defense is justified. These "antifa" freaks will only become more bold until such time as they are put down with force. Never expect rational thought from a screaming mob. Once they overflow into more rural (i.e., "red counties") expect the people who live there to fight back! I for one, will NOT be a victim. Any screaming lunatic running in my direction with a nail-embedded baseball bat is going to get a 170-gr bullet in his chest from my .30-30 Winchester. The same goes for any of these animals trying to burn down or loot my home with me in it. I WILL NOT retreat.

If the North Koreans ever send a missile over here we can only hope it hits an area like Berkeley. Then we can retaliate against North Korea and take out their leaders. Two problems solved.

They are the latest reincarnation of the communist party. Communist changed to progressive democrat, prog to occupy, occupy to antifa, and let` s not forget the militant arm of the whole crew blm - with the terrorist faction of them being TNBPP. Nothing has changed in the march to destroy capitalism and true Liberty except what Americas enemies call themselves. Simple research shows the same crew referenced at every "protest" - world workers party - (guess who!) The co founder of blm inadvertently let the cat out of the sack in an interview last week, she listed all the "evils" of America, near the top was "capitalism" what more do we need to know? Damn shame no 'journalist" can work up the nerve to ask any prominent democrat on the Sunday shows how they justify associating the dnc with documented communist actions in the form of black lives matter...

They are a group no different from the thugs Hitler used in the 30's. They are the Fascists - at least according to their own definition of them. They appear from out of town, raise hell and disappear and melt back into the herd shedding their black clothing and masks. They are the paid help. Their qualifications for the job is being cowards and bullies.Despicable. Gee, I wonder who is paying them?

I see them as a terrorist organization. As many times as they are protesting on their own with no reason to have to be violent and they still are violent and breaking the law via destruction of property. They want to half free speech. I literally saw a video this morning of one of the ANTIFA groups chanting "No Trump, No Wall, No USA at all" so you tell me. They are nothing but thugs that want to hide their identity.

Plus if I am to continue on this for the Charlottesville, VA issue, there were many witnesses that saw KKK, Neo-Nazis, BLM and ANTIFA all getting off the same busses. So to me this is all organized to make it seem worse than it is. I believe all of them are bad and I believe they all need to be shut down. You cannot be a true American and honestly think you are better than anyone else that lives here no matter color, creed or religion. Do we need to be careful who we let in yes we do. Do we need to vet those who are coming in yes. Should we be letting other people in and yet we cannot even help ourselves my answer is a resounding NO because we are literally heading towards Atlas Shrugged take from those who work hard to give to those who don't want to work at all and everyone gets the same no matter if they work or not. So in my opinion, they are thugs and are just out for Violence they don't have a real message except to hurt anyone who disagrees with them.

Simply said we are either in Idiocracy or Atlas Shrugged and at this point both are not where we should be.

AntiFa is the epitome of 2 key Orwellian "1984" concepts: Newspeak & Doublethink.

Newspeak: Newspeak is "politically correct" speech taken to its maximum extent. Newspeak is based on standard English, but all words describing "unorthodox" political ideas have been removed. In addition, there was an attempt to remove the overall number of words in general, to limit the range of ideas that could be expressed.

Doublethink: The power to hold two completely contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accept both of them.

Instead of calling themselves "Anti-Fascists" they shortened their name to "AntiFa" thus enabling a confusion of what the organization really stands for (newspeak). As for doublethink, they hold in the minds that they are fighting fascists even though their fascist mentality makes them fascists in and of themselves. They are such goodthinkers that they will blackwhite the party.

    Welcome to Oceania!

I think the reason they all wear masks is that the core organizers want this to look grass roots and local and they don't want to be recognized. Also the snowflakes are emboldened when in a mob and with their faces covered......does this seem familiar.....what other organization covers its faces......the Klu Klux Klan maybe!!!??? I mean, they are an earlier Democrat organization, so it could be that this later iteration is using similar tactics..

There are similarities. I hope they continue to attack the press. Maybe they will start doing their jobs.

It is entirely possible that a rabble like this, given that their faces are covered, will step away from the control of their handlers and do embarrassing and stupid things like assault members of the press. The mass are probably not aware that they even have handlers.

As I've rolled into my middle years and really observed closely how my fellow Americans react to things it has become very clear to me (even before this latest facet) that Americans, for the most part, seem very ready for a new fascist movement. I know that sounds extreme and far out. But, all you need to do is read the comments posted in the online newspaper articles to see that we, as a nation, look pretty ready to completely deny what I call "sanctity of life". Smashing somebody over the head with a big bike lock because you don't like how they look? Sure...we're there. What shocked me, specifically, when I used to read the comments posted for our local newspaper was how quick so many seemed to be to express hatred of children, and even encourage the neglect of the disabled. I remember seeing that several years ago and deciding to start checking out...going Galt...

It is shocking to me how willing people are to give up freedom. With the technology that exists today I don't know where we can go Galt and be safe.

For me, it's been a "going Galt in place" so far. I no longer exist on the internet, except here. I stopped spending on everything except necessities and niceties to please my loved ones - constantly saving money. No debt, etc... Should the time come to vanish, I'll do that.

They are shutting others up by force; that is clearly not an act of free speech on their part.

They are also making examples of conservatives, and of fans of speakers such as Milo, Ben Shapiro, and Ann Coulter, both by actual violence and by falsely smearing them all as Nazis, in the hope that no one will dare turn out to hear those speakers again. That is clearly terrorism.

The problem that bothers me more is that the police in these places regularly stand down, rather than help the victims of this terrorism. As far as I'm concerned this is not only a violation of the social contract, it is an act of war against the American people and therefore treason.

How many times does this have to happen before we're justified in using some police-level force of our own? I'd say we already are.

(And here I must disagree with wmiranda. When the Berkeley police frisked and disarmed right-wingers before standing down they were committing even worse treason. The victims of Antifa can do those people no wrong. The sides are not equal; only one has initiated force.)

Barkley Mayor now backtracking after allegedly ordering Police to stand down, or hold back, or give Antifa room during the last riot there. Now he wants Antifa to be declared a gang according to California law. Hypocrite. He received a lot of criticism after the multitude of videos of violent attacks by Antifa were disseminated. Even Frick and Frack from Morning Joe had to admit Antifa is a violent organization. At Morning Joe the expressions were the same as election night when Trump won the elections.

Protesting and free speech are one thing but inciting and engaging in violence against anyone who disagrees is not. Otherwise, forget elections every 4 years and let's just have an ad hoc insurrection. Whoever wins is the boss.

Anyone showing up with mask and urban combat gear and weapons to a protest is not intent on engaging in free speech. Rather, committing violence against those they disagree with at the time. Those showing up dressed as such, should be turned away by police or arrested if they resist the police. Those conspiring with Antifa, like politicians, MSM encouragement, funding, should be charge for any damage caused by such groups. This is true for any other group with such intent.

Sounds like the opposite of an ideal free society, but a free society without responsibility and obedience to the rule of law is not a free society at all. It's anarchy.

The more we find out about these incidents with such groups like Antifa, the more evident it becomes that Trump was right after the riot in Virginia when he condemn the "many sides". Time has proven him right, AGAIN. People like Gary Cohen, and goat republicans, who took the opportunity to bash Trump were wrong, AGAIN.

Like j_IR1776wg wrote quoting Lenin, these individuals have had, not 4 but 8 years of indoctrination.

Antifa, or as I call them PRO-fa, chanted at Berkeley this weekend: "No Trump, No wall, No United States at all".

No other possibility exists but that they are treasonous terrorists. They are broadcasting, also, the platform of the democrat party.

    My Great-Grandmother used to say:
"Idle hands are tools of the devil." AND: "An idle mind is the devil's playground."
Evil actions and boredom go hand-in-hand.

If these children were familiar with the concept of working toward values of their own to have and keep it would be difficult for the likes of Soros to purchase their time.

I hope they're just idiots itching for a fight, but I'm not sure. I'm afraid they're tge beginnings of an armed faction, but I suspect and hope they're just kids looking for street fights.
