Are the Wildfires Reverse Gentrification?
Whether the fires were set on purpose or not, What is a possible result? The wealthy people living there have to leave and how long to rebuild? Who will rebuild in a pile of ashes? Do they want to go back there?
I wonder if the government clears the land, and rebuilds...affordable housing...for the migrants? Maybe giant apartment buildings, pack the people in? Any Twosome Newsome wants the tax money replaced ASAP.
Anyhow, the real-estate angle is in play here. I placed this pondering opinion under Economics.

В Советском Союзе, oops, I mean: In the Soviet Union--you are guaranteed 9 square meters of space for your home. That's a ten-by-ten foot room, except you actually share space with five other people, so your combined space is maybe 10 by 20 feet. That's maybe 20 sq meters. It's not a problem, though, because everybody knows that Russians are good at mathematics. "Four legs good, two legs better." (Orwell, 'Animal Farm'.)
