The government in '1984' would be proud of the way the National Organization for Women supports men pretending to be women. (Yes, I know full well that's a subjective statement.) But I've often asked the same question that women in this article (and others) are asking: Where the hell is the outcry and uproar from women's groups in protest of all these organizations allowing men to compete against women? By claiming to be "inclusive", they are, in fact, excluding the very group they're supposed to be supporting and protecting.

Yes, this whole "men can be women" doublethink thing would do George Orwell proud.

That was inspired by my currently reading a collection of scary stories from a time period that includes Lovecraft and Poe.
That's when "queer" and "gay" meant something else before certain people came out of closets to get into everyone else's face as if they are oh so special..

So when the Flintsones were having a Gay O'l time, were they really being homosexual?
Or is our entire language just being perverted?
              Pun intended.

Me an old dino recalls very shortly after the Flintstones first appeared on TV during 1960 (had to look up the exact year) some organized group of homosexuals announced they were calling themselves gay.
During the early Sixties I read a newspaper editorial (think it syndicated) bemoaning the ruination of the word, gay, that had appeared in so many classic poems and literature.
A flick called The Gay Divorce' was in theaters during 1934. Never watched it.
Just looked up Queer Nation and edited it in. That was founded in 1990. Wrong group of homos to blame. As I grew up during the Fifties, homosexuals were called queers.
Now that's all so hurtful. Maybe. Only blacks can get away calling each other the n-word. Wonder if that applies. New thought~~you know, I don't care.

I enjoy the older authors - Poe, Milton, Emerson - some of their ideas I do not agree with, but they always make me think. And the way the language has been basterdised over the years..... Have everything written on paper and bound books...cannot be changed on a whim the way that could/has happened with a kindle......

I respectfully disagree; just because things are written down and in bound books does not mean they are not susceptible to being changed. Just look at what happened to Roald Dahl's books.

Appreciate the comment, and you are correct, books are changed. However, I was referring to books which I own and have control over. Unless they start forcibly burning books, I know these will not change.

Exactly! I recently bought copies of 'Tom Sawyer' and 'Huckleberry Finn' to save for my grandchildren, because I expect them to be either 'revised' or just banned in the not-too-distant future.

I do the same thing. My library has many "old" un-sanitized books. I just hope they are preserved and passed on after I pass.

Your chosen examples are excellent as the latter day versions of Twain's (Clemens') works are practically re-written for the woke.

It gets back to "have control over". Let us hope that there are enough people to pass these on to - that have not been infected by the woke mob....

I have the old collection of the Harvard 5' shelf of books, and the "Great books of Western Civilization" - and have been through most of them. As you do, I hope they are passed on.....

      My thoughts exactly.
God made you what you are, and who you are.
I can see someone being angry about being born with deformities, or such bad genetics that they suffer disease, bad health and die at a young age.
But to poison your temple, God's gift, with hormonal drugs, worst yet, cut off your bits... now that's just sick. It's worse than sick, it's blasphemy. It's Psychosis.

This a reflection of of the state of the world, a state of mass psychosis.

Over and over I think: how much more of this can go on before that thin veneer of society just peels away?

How bad to things have to get before we enter the Great Tribulation. Or, are we already at the gates?

I understand your feelings, but I think it is a mistake to base opposition to these things on religious principles. Those we are trying to convince typically don't believe in God, so the arguments are moot to them.

I think logic is a better approach [such as: you are trying to fix a problem in your head, by modifying your body.] There is a problem with this approach as well, though. Most people, it seems, are never taught to think logically. For that, we need to fix education. I'm not holding my breath.

if you look at the world and do not see God
          you are lost

if you look at a male and think he can become female
you are beyond lost, well into delusional

With so many souls lost in this world, this rejection of who or what they are is merely one manifestation of this sickness of a separation from their maker.

          I pray for them.

I understand why so many people are put off by what I call industrialized religion.
I'm not a "church goer" nor do I push others in that direction.
What I have is a deep belief in our God and the sacrifice of his only begotten son. My religion, if that's what you wish to characterize it as, is personal and private. I just read the KJV.
It gives me some solace in a deeply troubled world.

    Where is the outrage?

Why it is likely being SILENCED if we read the Twitter files!!

I remember MANY Conversations with Intelligent people about CVID and the Jab. And how educated doctors are screaming about this.

And I was asked... Where is all of this happening? (Not in his feeds, to be certain. He TRULY believed the VAXX was your BEST CHANCE to BEAT Long Covid).

But we learned MUCH LATER, that they silenced the nay sayers.

Given that. Do you think these people are NOT Screaming mad? Of course they are.

But I bet you their outrage is being Suppressed so that the "Others" can have their day in the sun.

I've experienced MANY forms of this silencing when I was on twitter, and I Could not reference certain Climate Change Sites with SOLID inarguable science behind them. NOT A message "That site is blocked", a "System Error, try again later". Change the link to a different site, it works. Change to a bit.ly link that goes to the original site, and it takes longer to FAIL.

As a software designer... At that point, I closed my twitter account, and have never re-joined.

Oh, I agree that people are being silenced. But as Riley Gaines has proven, there are enough outlets who would present their side if they really wanted to voice their opinions publicly. But everyone seems to be chickenshit, scared to death of being targeted by these activist groups for daring to not toe the line.

It's not just the 'activist groups'. The Feds are leading the way. Just ask those imprisoned over the 'Jan 6' protest. Oops, you can't - they are still in jail. This was not to punish the protestors. It was to show future protestors (on the right) how far they are willing to go to silence them.

Of course, if you burn down Minneapolis or Seattle, you get a stack of 'get out of jail free' cards.

rainman, in the defense of many of these people. Please consider how many were FORCED to take a shot because it would mean losing their job, then their house, likely their cars.

For many gulchers, we live so far below our means, and work mostly for ourselves, or are closer to retirement... We might be forgetting how LETHAL a job loss is in these times. Especially if we get tagged.

I've met Katherine Englebright(sp) from True The Vote. If you only knew the details of how hard the railed her. After winning the court case, it was reasonable to get attorneys fees from the govt. But ONE lawyer (not hers) who had joined the group said "no need", and NONE of her legal fees were covered, the judge clacks a gavel, and she loses out. Huge $$$ she was forced to waste.

many govt agencies came knocking. For those who are barely making rent.
I can't blame them. They are in survival mode.
        By Design. Mind you!

A speaker at one event said "you cannot ask your flock to be brave if you don't all open your wallets to protect them when they are!" Because doing that increases the bravery... Knowing your community has your back. But when ruin hits the people in your flock, it takes ONLY ONE to scare the rest into submission.

He pointed out that without Union Dues... Unions have zero power. Those dues buy future power. Misused as it might be today... There is a lesson in there.

It's the TRULY RICH who toe the line that disgust me.
I am proud of my best friend. He submitted a signed form stating that it was a violation of his rights to disclose ANY medical treatment. Especially to "keep" his job. It was signed. Sealed in an envelope. And ready to be submitted, knowing he would lose his job. Luckily on the day of... The company rescinded the demand. BECAUSE... They lost 25% of their IT Department already (FWIW, these are typically highly paid people, who have choices/options).

When and where did all this nonsense start? I think of Eric Garner, George Floyd, Black Lives Matter, Barrack Obama, and other similar misinterpreted incidents created mostly by the media, but Rodney King is the earliest (1991) I'm aware of. All of these have had negative results for those that created and perpetuated them as well as everyone else. Not saying that there are no legitimate cases. Same goes for the alphabet weirdo's, they are going to make the world a worse place to live if it continues to grow. I see it now spreading into hating Jews again, and being able to demonstrate against them in our own capitol. Will Italians, Germans, Lithuanians, Mexicans, or whomever be next? Maybe we'll attack the Indians, haven't heard much about them lately. I think we need to go after the politicians, especially the ones that have demonstrated such stupidity and ignorance (Islands turning over due to people on them, and now the moon is made up of gas, and the sun would be difficult to go to). The people need to band together and clean house. So now if we could just find a leader to do that for us.

When you say "Media", do you mean The Mockingbird Media?
If you do, that is a construct of the SeeEyeAye.
So now you know about the Orange Revolution, that nasty piece of work that has been corrupting this world for the last 70 years, has set its sights on destroying our Republic.
      Jack Kennedy was right.
Dulles and his band of merry bandits should have been smashed into a million pieces and scattered to the four winds.
And now you know why he was publicly executed. And who did it.
And now you know the exact date this country began it's slow decent into hell.

I was just thinking my early recollection (1991) seemed just a few years ago, but in fact it was 33 years ago already, almost half way back to the 70 years ago you mentioned.

During the first six months of President Trump’s first term in office, he sought counsel with his Generals on a very strange issue. That issue was transgenderism:
    https://prussiagate.substack.com/p/ur...

Trump’s tweets could be viewed as the beginning of an extremely unusual war. It would be a war that sparked complete outrage within the Alphabet Cartel (which we know as LGBTQ+). When the bumbling, forgetful ‘Resident-in-Chief’ arrived at the White House, he immediately set about reversing most of Trump’s achievements. In particular, Joe Biden specifically softened Trump’s call on the transgender community in the US military. During the COVID madness of 2020, the world was introduced to a peculiar individual in Pennsylvania. As the Commonwealth’s health secretary, this person began advocating the mass lockdown of Pennsylvanians and their businesses:

The seemingly increasing occurrence of gender mutations may be evolution's device to reduce birth rates. Better than killing off large numbers of otherwise efficacious beings through epidemics and wars.

"evolution" would not work to reduce births

it would work to increase births to increase mutations to find the most survivable

Could be. We don't know the criteria that evolution's process of species preservation uses. We are seeing currently one method that's working to preserve what evolution considers the most "survivable"--which may be of quality rather than quantity. One "survivable" feature we have built in so far is rejection of what's different from us, or different from what has been long embedded in culture. The memes are having their war.

You do realize that "color" is merely a social construct...?

Everyone should get the opportunity to see the Daily Wire movies "What Is A Woman" and "Lady Ballers". Lady Ballers is satire, but it's close enough to reality (like Atlas Shrugged) to be scary.

For a philosophy that emphasizes freedom of thought and independence of values, rejecting personalities with gender deviance that nature imposed on some individuals is inappropriate judgment. Leave them be as they want. As for sports events plainly defined by categories, simply offer separate events for male, female, and trans competitors.

Ayn Rand also warned us about "Comprachicos of the mind". IMHO, the vast majority of the sexual confusion we are plagued with today is taught (groomed), not imposed by nature. With that said, if our society/government is going to force us go down that road then your solution for sports is the only way to go. If an individual insists on being Napoleon Bonaparte that insistance doesn't mean the rest of us have to bow our heads and address the person as "Your Excellency" or be forced to place this person in charge of the military or anything else. Seeing this contemporary phenomenon for the mostly charade that it is does not reject Objectivism, it embraces it.
