Me dino doing a little research, it appears that this bit of Babylon Bee satire was perhaps inspired by Airbnb that stands for AirBed and Breakfast.

    Satire aside, I can easily imagine a service--perhaps even a government program--that helps potential squatters locate houses which are unoccupied and untended for extended periods.

      Cracking jokes got me through 21 years of being a state corrections officer at a maximum security prison.
      To say I was never scared there would be a big time lie. Bagged a state retirement, though.

        I served on three different Grand Juries. Our County Sheriff had a perverted sense of humor. He decided if we were going to nominate people for candidacy in one of the six prisons in Brazoria County, we the Grand Jury should visit each of the six prisons. That was an experience!

          One one occasion I was stopped at the Gate and told I couldn't enter for a little while but everyone else got to enter. Then the an officer came out and told me my husband Lieutenant with the SO was inside and we couldn't both be in the prison at the same time. Duh!

            While eating lunch one day which the inmates served us, the food was so fantastic I asked what the prisoners ate. He responded, 'The same thing you are eating ma'am.' Our prisons are mainly prison farms and they raised their own cattle, pigs, chickens, and grew miles of vegetables for all the prisons in the county. Still not a place you'd like to be in for any length of time. I sat down on a piano bench where a young man was playing beautifully and asked what he was in for. He responded 'murder' . He had taught himself to play the piano by ear.

              During those 21 years, I found I'd rather work around murderers than thieves as long as none were cop killers who belong in one man cells in a segregation unit.
              Thieves who do not steal desperate for a fix are generally manipulating sociopaths devoid of compassion.
              Some convicted murderers are dangerous thugs. Most are not, regretting that day they got intoxicated or lost their temper.
              Unforgettable was a peaceful in prison British hitman who told me he was "scum who kills scum."
              At the end of his sentence I was working the back gate tower when British police picked him up to start another.
