A rocket exploded in the air at the same moment as the hospital, crowded with people, was hit, probably the parking lots where a huge crowd was taking refuge.
The record shows that a significant percentage of rockets, with no guidance systems, fail, exploding in midair. Dozens have done so since the Oct 7 war began (see map).
The damage is inconsistent with a strike from the air. For example, no crater, limited damage mostly from fire and shrapnel. There is no evidence of Israeli air strike in that area.
A telephone conversation recorded by the IDF and released is between two Hamas operatives discussing the exploded rocket and that it was fired from a cemetery nearby.
Hamas immediately and hugely exaggerated the death toll, which, tragic and significant, was not 500. This worked perfectly to try to add to opposition to the planned Israel invasion to clean out Hamas.
Arab leaders fell totally for the initial Hamas map created in Turkey to blame the IDF for the explosion. But this, and riots across the Middle East, would not have occurred without widespread, irresponsible media stores.

BEFORE Putin crossed over and started shooting back... (I have friends from the region, and on all 3 sides of the argument)... When the one group ADMITS to the bombing, but says "they were targeting Russian Separatists in Ukraine", and admit that quite a few of the photos of buildings that SUPPOSEDLY were damaged by Russia... Were actually hit 2-3 years BEFORE that, by the AZOV Battalion.. (But it was just a mistake of the newspaper, LOL).

That means a lot of Americans who read or heard that Schiff still think Israel killed a lot of people inside a hospital.
