One couldn’t agree more that a system than asserts absolute truth is a problem. So… what about religion, the ultimate, unfounded absolute truth, with a side order of if you don’t “believe” you 1) can be killed without remorse, 2) should be killed, 3) can’t be saved, thus are as useful as a doorknob.?
Does universal truth exist? Yes. The quest is to find it. Gravity is a universal truth. So is electromagnetism. Light (although the speed of light may be flexible). Many other things. Is there truth in human behavior - some ultimate standard? Sure. Are any of us paragons of such virtue? I think not. Doesn't mean the standard doesn't exist, however.
With regard to your specific points:
1) Anyone who kills another without remorse has given up their humanity. Doesn't matter what their so-called reasoning is. Whether it is an Islamic Fundamentalist or a globalist pushing vaccines, these individuals have forfeited their humanity. I wish any such as short trip off the boat of Life.
2) There is only one moral reason someone should be killed, and that is in punishment for them killing someone else - or trying to. Those asserting that some people must die in order for others to "live" is merely asserting their own (non-Randian) selfishness, i.e. moochiness. See this post for more: https://www.galtsgulchonline.com/post...
3) Being "saved" is an interesting notion applying to some Christian sects which I have a real problem with. Why? Because those who claim to be "saved" go on to claim that because of a one-time event in their own lives they have no need to further live their own philosophy. Makes no sense to me.
Forcing a loved one (including myself) into slavery is another.
Gravity sucks. That is universal truth humor.
Light is not a universal truth. Light is electromagnetic radiation, like a chair is furniture. Even the laws of physics are not universal truths, as Einstein proved regarding Newton's Laws, and it will happen again. What keeps them moving? Constant questioning, and perhaps humor.
The Monty Python French soldier atop a castle's wall made me dino laugh the best.
Congratulations! If you had not added the "Hey, Brandon," the rest of it would have been funny.
Calling Slow Joe's mother a hamster was very unexpected.
[PS...the last one is in response to the first.]
