All of the core families, Irish, French, Scots, and English that are in my ancestry arrived in the North American colonies before 1700. They fought in every conflict from the French and Indian war to Vietnam. Few were aristocrats, though one was a contemporary of Washington, Jefferson, and Henry in the House of Burgesses. Most were craftsmen, blacksmiths, wheelrights, and when steam came along, maintained the engines that opened up the frontier. They worked in shipyards and aircraft factories. None became wards of the state, supported by taxpayers. With that personal history I'm disappointed with people who feel this country they claim to hate as unjust owes them something.

Jefferson warned us that our destruction would not come from outside, but from within, and there are those malicious souls who seek to tear down the nation that is the first created on the principle of individual freedom. Hypocrisy is their watchword, lies are their standard, and hate is their motivation. They seek to create and feed division among us, and we must defeat them to bring unity and purpose back into American society.

And those who did nothing to help this country want to take advantage of all our families have created. My family built gorgeous homes, refineries, and churches. My family fought and died for this country and I cannot abide or sympathize with people who can't immigrate here legally but kill our Border Patrol trying to get in.

What ever happened to that premise one had to have some skill or other attribute that would benefit this country in order to immigrate to here legally?
My heirs arrived here in the early 1800s as Indentured Servants, otherwise known as Slaves who had to work their way to freedom for a set period of years.

My family arrived here about six weeks before I was born. My Mother and Father became US Citizens. They always leaned left but still loved America. They lived here for the rest of their lives.

If one looks back through history, it is rarely the age of the nation which determines its greatness but rather the principles upon which that nation was built and which continue to govern it. What should also be recognized is that a nation's name or age is almost never indicative of real stability. For example, what is the real age of the nation of France, given the fact that it was wholly occupied by Germany during WW II? What about Spain given its hundreds of years of fighting for independence from the Moors? What about fringe nations like Monrovia or Macedonia which existed hundreds - or thousands - of years ago and were re-instituted? What about more timely conflicts like Russia and Ukraine, where their shared cultural heritage goes back centuries despite political upheavals? What about China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, which have changed hands and cultures multiple times - especially in WW II? I think it's hard for any nation to really claim it goes back further than WW II - even the US which added Hawaii and Alaska immediately afterward!

I think one thing that sets the United States of America apart from all other nations is the set of principles - primarily equality - upon which it was founded. That core idea goes to the heart of your question and is what people either want to live in (the free people) or want to destroy (the tyrants).

I think the USA should accept that it has become the Divided States of America, and split into two parts, one of which goes back to its status as a republic, and the other is a completely statist country.
