We've been accepting the rationale for vaccinations for generations, and some of the same fears can be expressed about many of the shots we routinely subject ourselves to. I'd like to see statistics about possible deaths related to the seasonal flu vaccine, and wouldn't be surprised to see similar numbers.
The reality may well be that we've been careless for decades, and many current disorders have their origin in commonly used vaccines. Truthfully, the general health of the American populace has improved, in part due to the use of vaccines, so the trade appears to lean in the positive direction, so far.
The list of chemicals made me laugh. I almost expected to see the deadly dihydrogen monoxide listed. I doubt that the producers of the video would recognize any of the chemical, or whether any of them had any degree of toxicity. Another scare tactic.
The nature of the virus, and its rapid mutations were what drove the design of the vaccine in the mRNA direction. The outcome of the research indicates that we may see universal vaccines for seasonal flu and the common cold, among other promising indications. The flexibility of the activation mechanisms may even enable the creation of an anticancer vaccine.
Humans are supposed to be rational, decision-making animals. We often make trades between conflicting undesirable outcomes to reduce the worst results. An auto seat belt can strangle you in an accident. An auto airbag can crush your chest and cause immediate cardiac arrest. Those are real outcomes, documented, but the number of lives saved hugely outweigh the few who die in freak incidents, so we favor the safety measures in spite of possible deadly exceptions. What's playing out now is that the government has hyped everybody up on fear that our hazard detection systems have gone into overdrive, to the point of irrationality.
Vaccines killed my dad. Killed my friends 15-year old son. Gave my son encephalitis that he'll never fully recover from. Recently killed my neighbor's mother. They can offer benefits too, though. There are no solutions - only costs and benefits. What we need now that we have all this knowledge and technology is....honesty. That would bring everything full-circle. But, we're not going to get that now. Ain't it great to have a brain?
The reality is that medical errors (vaccines aside) are the biggest single cause of untimely death in the US, greater than traffic accidents or homicide. Nonetheless, more people live longer, healthier lives than at any past time in history, so we have made a collective trade benefits decision.
People were scared of the pandemic, with some saying we were overly fearful, while others were saying we weren't scared enough. In any case, the government was under the public gun to come up with solutions, and for anyone who listened carefully, there were those in the medical community who cautioned that a rush to find a solution carried greater than usual risk, but many didn't want to hear that, and now claim the risk was being hidden.
Once you start a witch hunt, it's easy to find witches, especially if the hunt is being driven by fear. Whether you or others like it, I see all this rage about the vaccine and how it was developed as a witch hunt, looking for anyone to burn because the treatment isn't perfect, and carries risk, just like we were told in the beginning.
I like the art style, I just wish they didn't combat fear with more fear.
