Kroger is opening the Door for Government Control

The Company doesn’t Know that the government will not stay away from this issue because of the , waste that is not getting to the food banks. We in the Supply Chain Industry are doing all that we can to get , groceries and restaurant food to the banks. We are not going to force more of charity donations, that the government will not let us deduct from the tax burden we carry.
We see your ulterior motives, Kroger! Hypocrites!
I did not know there was such a position as "Chief Social Impact Officer".
I guess it is similar to "Chief Diversity Officer" that Google established some time ago. You need to have a degree in Gender Studies to qualify.
What is the education requirement for a Chief Social Impact Officer? I assume it is Marxism 101.
It is not the right stuff that they want, wrong sizes, too much, not enough, on and on, we do it, because we have to look socially minded.
"Hank you have to think of your pubic image"
This is not going to get food companies to worry about printing dates, changing the printing of dates is not the issue.
My friend in the STARBUCKS management admitted to me that most of the stores still throw away the food at the end of the night because they can not get outside companies to come collect it. Starbucks does not do it because of the operational cost. But look at every store they have a sign that states the food gets donated every night.
I believe " I could be wrong" that the govt will not let their teeth out of this , and force more collection and "donation" of foods. At my and other companies costs on our backs.
So your Dino " in my Opinion " is correct.
Govt controlling of our businesses.
If I were president, the EPA would be on top of my list for elimination after running the UN out of NYNY.

Also, no court should be allowed to determine scientific evidence as has been done with asbestos and mesothelioma and lately with glyphosate used in some herbicides with billion dollar awards due to a jury determining that it causes cancer.
That which is taxed will wither.
The do-gooders operate with the mentality of toddlers. By giving handouts to the homeless, they are only supporting the lifestyle of the feckless, aimless parasites.
There are so many more examples of the continuingCanadian transitions into the depths of socialism at the expense of the productive members of society. Don't get me started on our Carbon Tax and Energy Programs. They are an outrage.
I pass a Kroger on my way home; I've done my shopping there for the almost 3 decades I've lived in my house, purely because of its convenience. When we lost Marsh, Kroger's only real competitor at the time, within 6 weeks the price of almost everything on the Kroger shelves was increased by at least 10-15%.
After reading this article, I may have to start shopping elsewhere, even if it's not as convenient. But, if I did any substantial digging into other companies, I suppose that I'd also find out ugly crap about Walmart, Meijer, and Target, the other grocery outlets available.
I'm too much of a city boy to grow my own, so I guess I'm kinda stuck. I may have to choose the least of the four evils.
They get fresh laid eggs in return, by the way.
Anything that can alter the now-common perception that food instantly becomes poisonous after the earliest date on the package/can should be encouraged.
