Dominican Republic deaths
Everybody must have heard of these cases recently.
People become mysteriously ill and die.

Why would anyone in his/her right mind go there, knowing full well what's been happening?

Both now say they will never go back. They have seen pictures of the "resorts" they stayed at and both say they are almost unrecognizable. Huge amounts of neglect in standards very obvious.
Both wonder what happened and why.
Reading about the latest deaths, me dino be asking meself, "Why are people still going there? Are they death wish crazy?
By now I'd be treating the Dominican Republic just like I do Mexico. I'd go no where near it!"
Thus so sayeth me dino quote above~~Let it be written. Let it not be done.
I agree on the countries not to visit.
Peru is another one I'd never go to. Many people disappeared who went hiking in the Mountains.
If you are going to travel to a third world nation like this, you become 100% responsible for your personal hygiene because no one else is going to do it for you.
PS - it says they ate at a Japanese restaurant. What do you want to bet it was sushi?
in which raw fish is served. That might work in Japan, but trying it in the Dominican Republic would not be advisable at all (though I'm not a doctor or medical authority). Your Idea about someone from there having "built up an immune response" is interesting, and may be valid. But that doesn't make it a good idea for someone from outside to try it.
That is precisely my point.
The fact remains that hygiene was not better last year or the year before, but there was no sudden spike in deaths.
Also, the hygiene issue is relevant in other areas of third world countries and we don't see this strange happening.
Something must have changed in the DR and it may not have been accidental.
Not everyone is up to date on information.
Even that would not help.
You would not believe how ignorant people can be.
They go to the danger zone w/o ANY knowledge. You confront them and ask if they are aware of what they are exposed to? Then they look at you with those stupid eyes: "We didn't know..." 🤢

"Dominican government officials have said that the deaths were coincidental and attributable to natural causes. "
Natural causes? So they decided to travel to the DR to die.
Is that it? They knew their time was approaching and even though they were completely healthy, they just dropped dead.
I suspect that there is a real disease that accounts for a small number of these deaths, a co-inicidence of other normal problems and a lot of hysteria and press hype.

It is always a red flag when they rely on stats: it is "only" a 100 people out of a million.
For those 100 people it is a 100%.
Something definitely manmade...
The fact that these incidents are happening suddenly without warning.
It looks like something intentionally inflicted, although I have absolutely no proof of it.
