And with that one statement, you illustrate their entire mindset. It never has been about guns, or the environment, or anything else other than control.

I would say that (most) animals do have emotions such as caring, fear and rage. They do not have high levels of reasoning.
Kill your kidnapper / hostage taker at the first opportunity.

Of course college and parents bought this on themselves.
It’s like they are programming students to regress society to ultimately follow a similar narrative.
We have been well into that process for a long time.
Just look at the demographic data of developed and developing (e.g. backward) countries.
It is organized and according to plan. Consider the EU's push to flood the continent with high proliferation colored people to displace the whites.
We were all to assume that we were doing a good thing by helping oppressed people. Ours was a Christian college, and putting Christian charity into helping the anonymous oppressed was a Good Thing.
About the same time I read Atlas Shrugged and began to get a better sense of what was happening.
Evergreen illustrates one facet of Rand's "Sanction of the Victim."
The only logic I have been able to acertain is the logic of destruction. All cultures, all civilization fall into ruin and waste. Most of history indicates that humanity is a wild savage and likes it that way. There are some bright lights the blume and folrish for a time, but all fade and become extinct.
What does this mob want? Unquestionably "articulate" utterings there...
A lower level version of the Yale events...
