My father faced this challenge bravely. My sister, my dad, and I were caught in an 'undertow' at the Gulf. Dad asked me, 'Do you know how you are supposed to get out of this?' I replied, 'Yes sir!' He pulled my sister out and I threw myself upward, floated and backstroked out and swam to the beach to comfort my screaming mother who was deathly afraid of the water.

    Both of his children died.

If anyone read "Sophie's Choice": she had to make a choice between her son and daughter as a Nazi demanded her to do.

She did not survive the choice: it made her a psychological cripple for life.

If I didn't think suicide was a sin, I probably would have killed myself. But no, I would have made a choice. How I cannot say. What would one do? Pray for a miracle.
