it was started by the crooked left as part of the "insurance policy" they all talked about in the event Trump won the election. It was supposed to impeach him (failed) or as a backup plan to divert him from getting things done ( substantially successful).

The group should have to pay back the taxpayers for what was wasted on the witchhunt.

The biggest cost to the USA was the time Trump wasted dealing with it, and the personal damage caused by anyone who worked for Trump (they should all be pardoned right NOW).

Plus, I think we lost 2 years of opportunity to have better relations with Russia. I think Russia is more interested in joining the rest of the world than China is.

All good points, term2, and all costly over the past two years.

We'll never get monetary pay back from "The group", but orange jump suits would do nicely.

Better relations with Russia is a good plan as well. I think the only relations with Russia Hitlery had in mind was selling American assets to them to line her own pockets (and others on the take) and if they don't play along, use American might to slap them around. Trump's victory ends that plan and I wouldn't be surprised if Putin filled Trump in during their private meetings. Maybe Q will pass a little insight on this along.

I dont think Trump should have to divulge anything he said to Putin, or Putin to him. All that counts between countries is ACTIONS anyway. I sense that Russia wants to regain past glory, but is more willing to do it the right way this time.

Agree. Russia wants to be relevant in world affairs and Putin wants to make it so. Also, in spite of Putin being a thug (or strongly alleged thug - whatever), he wants to avoid the "Empire Of Evil" moniker taking hold again. He is as pro Russian as Trump is pro American and maybe the two leaders can find common ground.

IMHO, Islamic pressure on Russia, which has been going on for centuries is still a driving force and I wouldn't be surprised if Middle East (ME) policies were part of the secret discussions. I still hold the opinion the Ukraine problem has a lot to do with Russia keeping a strong Islamic presence out of the Crimea, which was being allowed under the new Ukrainian regime. Russia's bad experiences in Afghanistan and Chechnya, IMHO, mean if Putin can get Muslims in the ME (and Iran by proxy) killing each other, then they won't be killing Russians. Just pulling a guess out of thin air here, but maybe Putin needs Trump to understand that in order to keep Americans and Russians from stepping on each other in the perpetual ME fire storm. I don't think Hitlery and her cohorts gave a damn one way or the other as long as the money flowed in their direction.

Both America and Russia want to be world leaders. Russia has more land mass than ANY country, so its logical that it could potentially be a world power. China has a LOT more people than any other country, so potentially it could be a world power. The strength of the USA is in its culture, and we need to concentrate on retaining that to remain strong. The other countries are far more collectivist and kept back by that/

I think that respecting other countries as we want them to respect us is the way to go. Trust, but verify is the watchword.

Russia isnt really very powerful now. They want oil (Venezuela) and to grab land from other countries as they did for a LONG time before they collapsed.

China is a much bigger threat. They are using the USA to accumulate wealth, and then their communist regime will turn ugly I think. Buying stuff from china needs not to be an excuse to stop producing things here in the USA. We need to rapidly advance automation so that we can mafginalize the effect of China's cheap labor.

I agree with much of what you say here, term2. I differ in that I don't think Russia needs Venezuelan oil when they can get it closer to home and it shouldn't take long for Putin to realize shoring up the failing Maduro regime is a fools errand. I could be wrong here, but I also suspect Putin would rather deal with his neighbors than invade them much like the US deals with Canada and Mexico (the current exception of course is the Crimea, which from the Russian point of view can NEVER be turned over to a potentially hostile power). I figure the Russians are still trying to figure out what to do with Russia and going backwards to the old Soviet Empire days would be a huge mistake I hope they can avoid.

Trump is working on trade deals that won't allow other countries to bleed us the way it's been in the past and I believe he will continue to work on more productive domestic policies as well. The Neo Communists really hate him for that.

I would suggest that Russia does want control of Venezuelan oil. They are propped up now only by their domestic oil production and what they can claim in the attic regions. Same with China. To hell with the Venezuelan people. All russia and China need and want is the oil. Better if the people of Venezuela are dead

Our problem with China trade i think begins with our not being on the gold standard. This lets the USA print money and send it to China without the consequences of devaluation of the us$$ relative to Chinese yuan. THIS has killed production in the USA, as the Chinese can offer prices to us at about 1/3 of what it would cost to make identical products here. Also, the Chinese are more efficient workers than entitled and relatively lazy American workers and are MUCH more entrepreneurial than Americans. The free market is flourishing much more in China than in the USA.

American companies willingly hand over secrets to Chinese partners so they can sell into China. Very short sighted indeed.

I think trump is too late on tariffs. They just hurt what’s left of USA business by increasing taxes really. To stop the cost advantages of buying Chinese, tariffs would have to be 300%, that would cause instant depression here in USA

Trump says the tariff money is coming from China. Not true! Tariffs are paid by us citizens and the money goes into the rathole of the us government It just means prices of finished goods in the USA have to be raised

I hope trump and Putin can now meet and agree on mutually beneficial policies instead of sanctions. Putin is a realist as us trump. The real cost of mueller has been the cloud over trump-Putin relationship.

Obama. I think this went all the way to the top. Recall that Clapper admitted such in an interview mid-2018.

I can only hope that acts of treason are rewarded with the fitting punishment.

The idiot Clapper put the spin on that it was a great thing what Obama did:

"President Obama is responsible for that, and it was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place. I think it's an important point when it comes to critiquing President Obama."

How things come back and bite you!!!

Why is me dino recalling Obooboo doubling the national debt and saying it was all Bush's fault?
Perhaps, that was the beginning of a trend.

Hussein is "advising" freshmen in Congress to keep introducing bad bills like the Green Ned Deal but think about cost:

            https://www.foxnews.com/politics/obam...

Isn't that a novel idea? Told by someone who increased the national debt to astronomical levels and ruined the economy.

Loved the note in the article saying that he "largely stayed out of the public eye since leaving office".

Yeah. He voiced an opinion on everything president Trump said and done, and anything that potentially can advance the left's agenda. Hussein is not someone who is able to stay out of the limelight.

He will have a good chance now as the investigation is moving into his territory. I can't wait to see him in court.

But, but the Blamer-In-Chief said his doubling our national debt was all Bush's fault. Hey, and Obooboo DID have lotas n' lots of needful lib friends to help out with solar panels and other sky pies.
Also know as the Liar-In-Chief, Obppboo now claims Trump's "luck" with the economy was the result of policies that took eight years to yield fruit.

    Just in:

CNN lost 30% of its audience.

"On the credibility front, CNN chief Jeff Zucker tried to excuse his network’s two-year deliberate deception about Trump colluding with the Russians by admitting on Tuesday that no one at CNN does investigative work.

Like we didn’t already know that.
“We are not investigators,” he told the far-left New York Times. “We are journalists, and our role is to report the facts as we know them, which is exactly what we did.”

I would take an issue with his "we are journalists" claim.

True journalists learn ethics in school. That is part of their college education. There is no sign of ANY ethical behavior, let alone a minuscule attempt to report the truth.

In the same breath, Maddow's audience shrank 20% at MSNBC.

Smearing president Trump was a money making business for these swamp.
