I'm very happy to have landed in the Gulch...

I'm 71, extremely Conservative, have a serious issue with the ever encroaching and over-bearing government at ALL level.

I;m disgusted with law enforcement and their GESTAPO TACTICS to put the fear of them into the hearts and minds of the Citizens.

Oddly enough, my entire life has managed to become what I made of it.

Once I dumped the 'victim' version and shifted to Treating everybody as an equal, life has been better.

I guess that's a core reality, not everyone internalizes self-reliance. What's your experience with Objectivism?

I heard someone say, recently, that all ism's have failed, but there's one exception. Capitalism.

              Patriotism is another.

I disagree. There are many people who consider themselves patriots, but they are really advocates for the democratic party, or the government, or whatever makes them feel good about themselves. Objectivism is much more specific.

They 'redefine' various words to suit their own agenda.

When in question, I tend to use a 1950's Webster Intercollegiate Dictionary.

They use whatever they are told to use by their BETTERS.

When a group, or subgroup claims "OWNERSHIP" of a word or term, I usually ask to see the Bill of Sale on the RIGHTS to the words, or terms that causes tears to run down their little snowflake cheeks.

Yes, Jordan Peterson refers to it as the totalitarian strategy of taking ownership of the linguistic territory. I challenged your patriotism angle because I know people who are veterans, who are proud of their patriotic legacy, and don't know that their allegiance to the democratic party is a contradiction.
