My condolences to his family. He lived a life of valor and excellence. It is truly our loss.

  I don't know about currently, but VP Biden's son was serving in theater. He is a lawyer so a remf, but still he was there during his dad's first term.
  
  There are maybe a double handful in congress with sons/daughters in the military, but I don't know whether or not any are in or were in combat deployments.

  I think a more vital question is how many serving are now elected officials? if you were to ask me the biggest change in the make-up of those who seek office over the last fifty years would be how many of them had held a distinguish career in the military. How many of the have engineering degrees?
  I’m trying find out when the funeral will be held. I would like to go. I know they are going to bury him at Arlington Nat. Cemetery.
