The west offers free trade, capitalism, and acceptance into the democratic world. All of those things are opposite to what a useless dictator would want in order to stay in power.
So Trump is offering things that Kim doesnt want, so Trump doesnt get what HE wants either.
All Trump can do is walk away, although he could have tried to negotiate first of all inspection of all the nucear facilities without dismantling of them. Perhaps in exchange he could get the end of the Korean conflict.
to stay in power, and to get S.Korea (a racist ambition).
The welfare of Koreans is not a concern.
Nukes are essential to those objectives.
Stalin said (something like): Concession is confrontation.
If you give or make a concession it provokes more demands.
Also, notice the timing by the Dems to ensure they undermine any negotiations in Vietnam? If I were at the table making a deal under such circumstances, I wouldn't have made a deal either.
"Also, notice the timing by the Dems to ensure they undermine..." "...purpose of the democrats is to either impeach... "Communists, Progressives, Democrat Socialists, Dictators..." We should remember the dems just stopped hiding who they are, the repubs are no better, in most cases they secretly agree with the dems. The proof of that is the refusal to acknowledge - or accomplish, 99% of what they `ve been swearing they would do "if we only had the house, senate and oval". It would serve us well to remember the vast majority of them consider us the enemy.
Cohen is a pawn. Plus he is an embarrassment to the legal profession. Gone are the days of lawyer-client privilege. Today, tell your lawyer ONLY what you want plastered across the NYT pages.
Unfortunately, today Kim Jung Un proved that he cares more about his dictatorial power than making North Korea a better place for his people.
Today the summit ended with Trump diplomatically shaking Kim's blood-stained hand and playing nice as he walked out.
Trump thought that was a bad deal and he wanted more.
