There. I guess she told us!

How in the world did this glittering jewel of ignorance get elected? A part of the answer, of course, is that today's system of education is focused on "social justice" etc. rather than teaching the fundamentals that some of us grew up learning. Civics, American History, etc.

I have to ask... have we lost this country?

    This new one who announced for President today, Amy (?) wants universal gun registration. I am not sure what that is but in Texas you go through a background check and a waiting period. Are these people trying to create more government jobs? We have almost a million people working for the government now. Do we need that many in this computer age? I learned 77% of our construction is being done by the government. I'm no mathematician but that means private enterprise is only doing about 23%! Is that why our roads are so bad? I have never seen over worked federal, state, or municipal employees and I was once a state employee, member of the city council, and a federal lobbyist.

      BTW. I forgot to mention. Buying and selling person to person without any government intervention/permission scares the peediddlyshit out of the politicians, which is a good thing. ;)

      I may have missed something, however, to my knowledge there is NO requirement in Texas to either go though a background check or a waiting period to purchase a gun of any kind. at least it hasn't for the 72 years I've been here. Now, if you want to go to a commercial gun or sporting goods store, or to a gun show and purchase from a dealer, you will likely have to abide by their rules. if you want to purchase a gun, handgun or otherwise, from me, and I want to sell you the item, you give me the money and I give you the gun. We shake hands and both walk away happy.

    That's the dumbest thing I ever heard...
    She should be escorted back to school, a school that teaches real history like Hillsdale College...and don't bother us until you learn it properly...OH, while you are at it...learn the constitution the proper way also.

    And don't come out of your room until you are done!

      Hillsdale is offering an on line course on the Constitution and I hear a really informed gentleman is doing a series on WWII from memory and a learned friend of mine is really enjoying it!

        That college started after Washington became president, and they are dedicated to teaching the Constitution as written.

        They do not take government money.

              What is the point of arbitrarily saying after George Washington's presidency if you don't mean to associate it specifically with George Washington's presidency? 1844 was also "after" the Pilgrims, "after" Attila the Hun, "after' the dinosaurs. Random words, pretending a confusion wasn't a confusion, or both?

              Hillsdale is a religious conservative institution. That matters. Most attend because they do adhere to the proselytization there. They don't "have" to; most would not attend such a college for no purpose and regardless of what it is. Those with a purpose care what the institution is for and does.
