VOTE !!!

VOTE, but more importantly, get your friends and neighbors off their duffs and out to VOTE. There has to be more sane people out there that can vote than there are of the other kind. If we all vote and decide we need to go the other way, then so be it. I could care less I'm old enough not to have to suffer the consequences of todays poor decisions or lack of decisions. And if my kids are stupid enough to give away what this country has established so far, then so be it too. Maybe I'll have it put on my gravestone, "Told ya' so !!!"

I always vote because I figure that if you don't vote you cannot complain and I like to complain ;-). BTW I am also in California so my political votes are lost but like Abaco, I vote on propositions that often "win" but then are rejected by the courts.

When I stopped voting long ago my grandmother said, "Don't tell your grandfather or he'll kick your butt." I stopped voting when, in an election here in California in the 90s, we passed propositions that established limited terms for elected officials, denied free healthcare to illegals, and a couple others. All of the votes went my way. Then, the courts threw out the votes within 24 hours. You can see where California is now. I did happen to send in a ballot once since...I voted for Al Sharpton for President as a joke. He was actually on the ticket, haha. Now, in these midterms...my colleagues at work are emphatic that I vote this time. There is a feeling that Cox can pull a Trump move and upset Newsome for governor. I will be moving out of the state in Newsome's tenure (I assume he'll win).

I am still not convinced that voting works, at least in my state. But, I may try it again just for giggles. Heck, here in California we've seen the newspapers publish the names and addresses of people who contribute to conservative propositions. Pretty ugly...

I too moved out of California after Jerry Brown was elected, the first time, 1977. If we continue doing that soon well have to find a place to move out of the United States.

A dear friend told me when I questioned the lack of turn out of voters in our little city, 'People are only interested in the pothole in front of their house!' Seeing what has happened to our City Counsel, I totally agree. Now we have no women on the Council, no minorities on the counsel (oops, I forgot we now have one) but still all men and the majority are dumb old men who have retired from life!

You say that as if it's a bad thing. In a proper society, government is of little importance (like that pothole) and so can be left to retirees with nothing better to do than sign off on the constitutional applications of ways to means. It takes only a healthy dose of common sense. But today we're caught in the middle of a melee, and the spoils are determined by hucksters who've won the awkward charade at the polls. It's a catch-22, and there is no exit short of another revolution.

Me dino considers it my patriotic duty to always vote. How I was publicly schooled in Alabama during the late 50s and early 60s has to do with that.
I vote despite living in a blue Birmingham area stain on a red state. I did not vote for Doug Jones but that libtarded liar now represents me. That's just how it goes.
In the current political climate, I'm wondering if some racist will force old and crippled me to pull my concealed carry for wanting to beat me up due to my "white privilege."
That concern won't scare me dino away from the polls. Not ever.

Well, I want people to vote--as long as they're going to vote my way. If they're going to vote the other way, I'd just as soon that they stay at home in bed, and not go to the trouble to go to the polls. I don't try to urge everyone to go vote. I think that if you don't want to vote, you probably shouldn't. Persuading such a person to vote could possible do more harm than good.---By the way, I do intend to vote myself.

Y’all need to move to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project. Your vote counts here very much. Races have been won by the toss of a coin!

"Y'all"?! In New Hampshire?! --Odd. I was raised in Virginia by parents from Iowa and Minnesota, who often criticized and reprimanded me for using a Southern accent and such terms as "y'all". (I did learn to pronounce like a Midwesterner, though I don't care for the sound. I think maybe I emphasize the Augusta County twang of western Virginia now for revenge).

See my post of Ayn Rand's article, "The Season of Platitudes" written when things were still relatively "sane" in American politics:

    https://www.galtsgulchonline.com/post...

(Your title should be "VOTE !!! While it is still a choice, not a legal duty").

Just remember that a non-vote is a vote also. The number of possible voters is fairly well known, so the number of non-voters says something about the patriotism, a belief that the country is well, of the people of the USA.

By the way, I am getting tired of your hidden posts. If you are doing it, stop it and join in on the discussions. If the moderators are doing it, also stop it.
