Why are there so many successful operators in the private sector who willingly cower to groupthink? Have they become infected with egalitarianism or are the merely pragmatic?
Yes, "diversity" is perhaps the greatest plague facing our nation right now. Why? Because it encourages difference for difference's sake. It doesn't seek what is better, more effective, safer, more profitable, etc. It seeks difference and pointedly ignores all claim of value or utility.
All ya gotta do to be a big success is to have a great product, sell at a competitive price and to provide service that treat customers as you would like to be treated, such as with topping requests. That's the big three right there. There's no need to board the PC coo coo train.
In the immortal words of Gomez Adams when pondering the perfect product, “....it should cost a dime to manufacture, sell for a dollar, and be habit forming.”
They don't want the PR backlash and demonization, it's bad for business. And they want to be apolitical. Worst of all, they don't know how to make the case for the morality of individualism and capitalism.
"A typical diversity program begins with a questionnaire of true/false statements “designed to help you increase your awareness of diversity and inclusion.” They include, for example, “Diversity training is a matter of compliance, and I’m not biased.” By “correctly” answering these “false”, you have voluntarily chosen to participate because you have self-identified as a flawed individual in need of wise counsel. If you answer “true”, you cannot get credit for completing the module. Can you think of a better way to insult the integrity of your entire work force?"
Actually, the above excerpt is one of the more evil things I have read recently.
To clarify, the part about voluntarily chosen to participate means that you can continue with the online module and get credit for completing it. There were 5 other true/false statements I could have made a case for being false, but they were less agregious than these two.
This is exactly right allosaur, and I would add that when faced with an onslaught from the PC coo coo train, to pull a Trump and shove product, price, and service right back in their face.
You might take note of the fact that "Papa John" was ousted from his own company prior to these actions. He made the mistake of kowtowing and then got bitten in the behind.
Actually this "John" is the current CEO who is kowtowing. The founder was reportedly ousted for un-pc remarks in a business call with their ad agency. Sounds like the ad agency contract was not punitive enough regarding keeping conversations private. If it had been the ad agency could not have blackmailed the founder for his remarks in a private call. Said founder was forced out after that conversation was shared and the BoD decided he had to go. (A downside to being a public company and only holding 30% of the shares.) The cover story was something about his reaction regarding the kneeling NFL. He did eventually fall on his sword to give the company a human sacrifice to reduce the losses that the BoD attributed to him, when it was more likely the mediocre food, imo.
Much more to this story mshupe , thanks for posting. https://www.myfoxzone.com/article/new... The ceo created the scandal according to the REAL entrepreneur , the founder Papa John himself.

Not enough diversity - so it has been banned.
Multiple toppings or no pizza for you.
