While the general consensus is that government has many forms but in reality that would be a misnomer. There is but one true form of government, circular. While a circular form can start at any point as it will always come back on itself, in this case let's start from a convenient point of reference, the republic. Not the false republic as many nations have falsely claimed to be republican in form, twice over a fallacy, but a republic be it's definition, the consent of the people.
First, throughout history a republic is doomed from it's inception to a limited lifespan of approximately 250 years as claimed by historians. A government is, as the case with the 1887 coup, instituted by consent of the people for the protection of it's population.
Now in the infamous words of Alexis de Tocqueville, “The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money.” A republic can only remain as such in a moral society. However as society forgets it's original purpose, it degrades into a democracy.
Democracy or mob rule starts a very fast moving fall into an immoral society where socialism becomes ripe for the picking. This socialistic leaning will last until the source of money becomes scarce as the producers flee to safer harbor as they know the next step, collectivism - communism or fascism depending on the new rulers.
And the republic, long failed, is no more. The slavery of the people is complete and tyranny rules the day. Mass genocide follows as has always been the case, i.e. Russia, China, Cambodia, etc., etc., etc. The tyranny will remain until the people finally stand up in mass revolt (in 1776 that started by only 3% of the population).
The Declaration of Independence claimed the people to be free and sovereign, anarchy. That is except for the 13 tyrants that declared the ability to rule their colony. But sovereignty of the people seldom lasts more than 2 generations before the cycle starts over again.
I would suggest reading the 1776 Constitution of North Caroline. paying special attention to the 4th paragraph under "The Constitution, or form of government":
"Wherefore, in our present state, in order to prevent anarchy and confusion, it becomes necessary that government should be established in this State; therefore we, the Representatives of the freemen of North-Carolina, chosen and assembled in Congress, for the express purpose of framing a Constitution, under the authority of the people, most conducive to their happiness and prosperity, do declare, that a government for this State shall be established, in manner and form following, to wit:"

But the big question, do you understand anarchy really means? If you really understand, then life in this country today becomes much more simplistic. When you truly understand, then you can get a grasp on what Jefferson stated as the preamble to the Declaration of Independence, to wit:
"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."
Remember this also, Jefferson was a deist as am I. It really does define the true nature of things.
