Yes, you are correct about all of that, hence the WC Fields quote, reference to insanity, and suggesting a decentralized solution based on free market principles. He and his army would first have to admit to their insanity, and then irrelevance, before hearing out ideas that actually work.

It appears to me (based only on what is written in the article) that the CEO of United Way is planning to do exactly what has been done for the past 40 years. I do not see anything in his plans about unleashing the free market to solve problems- instead tethering some companies who may or may not be free market with the dead weight of government, foundations, and non-profits (all who are enslaved to the existing power structure) to continue the planned stagnation and dependence on handouts.
This CEO condemns racism; sounds like another attempt to divide people and place blame where on the innocent. This "sweeping vision" is aimed at conquering "systemic racism." This is another fraudulent front for seeking to blame all societies ills on racism. This "sweeping vision" is a pile of propaganda rubbish that completely ignores reality.

I think the word "racism" should be stricken from the vocabulary. I really doubt that people today are even able to distinguish one "race" from another, with all the interracial progenation going on.
What if you have a black father and a white mother, and the white mother's mother is german and the mother's father is from China. So which race are you? Even if you wanted to discriminate on the basis of race, which one would you discriminate against?

I think its a totally different thing that is labeled "racism" but ISNT. I think "culturism" is a better label to indicate what one would discriminate against in a proper way.

I like some cultures, and dislike others, and I think thats ok. I dont want to be around the entitled black culture, or the entitled white or 2nd generation entitled hispanic culture. I just dont feel comfortable with some of the important aspects of their cultures. Same is true with the card carrying muslims or religious people of any religion. I just have to know that all bets are off if I happen to not lead my life in the way their bibles say- and that makes me uncomfortable.

So down with "racism" which I dont think really exists anymore, and up with "culturism" which I think has and will exist for a long time and is OK.

Yes down with racism. Just note that racism is not just discrimination but is the belief that one's race, if there is such a thing, has something to do with the content of one's brain thus making one better or worse than someone else, thus the idiocy of the search for one's true self through DNA results.

Well something is responsible for differences in intelligence, athletic performance, as well as physical characteristics from one human to another. From personal experience I would say these differences are prevalent across all races I have seen people of all races both very smart and dumb as bricks.

And today races are pretty well mixed in most places, so the dream of a master race isn’t very practical.

I would say that selective breeding should work in humans as it does with other species to select physical and athletic characteristics- maybe even raw intelligence. Who knows . Interesting idea in theory, but forcing women to mate with the appropriate men isn’t right unless they do it willingly and raise the offspring as their own. In thousands of years no pure super race has ever emerged

But all the races are still human and deserve the same respect and rights

Well, at least the article writer wrote to conclude the article, in his own words, not the CEO's, that "Now is the time to replace activist monopolist education with economic education in the marketplace of ideas.".
      Whatever that means.
Bolshevik Bernie has one idea. We know what that is.
Nutty Nancy Princess Pelosi thinks she has ideas, such as her most infamous, that being "Let's pass this bill to see what's in it."
Wouldn't be at all surprised if any CEO of United Way thinks it is a good idea to dump Trump to replace him with Cackles The Evil Hag.

Eugenics is an interesting theory? Why not spend the rest of your life listening to Imagine? The complexity of the human genome is absolutely mind boggling, and who are these omniscient human intellects that decide for the rest of us? And you have a very egalitarian view of tape. So let's go to the lab and remove a critical element of humanity from the elegance of the evolutionary process.

Yes, the fatherless broken families incentivized by The Great Society are absolutely central. I didn't add it to the narrative on this piece as it would overwhelm the point he raised that finally recognizes they don't have answers and the point he raised that its been 100 years of futility.

So throwing money at the problem will fix it, despite the trillions of dollars already spent on poverty to little effect.

Instead of addressing "children not ready for kindergarten" or neighborhood violence, United Way might address the roots of fatherlesness,, which breeds dysfunctional means of coping with problems.

Family and community are what teach us to integrate and thrive, first with guidance as children, then with assurance that we can proceed as rational individual adults. Those needs met, only then will any kind of economic education be meaningfully received.

Allosaur, thanks for the opportunity to clarify. What that means is a decentralized effort, as mentioned in the previous sentence, for self education, a modern example of the marketplace of ideas available in the hyperlink.

The solution is economic. If Trump's policies keep the GDP growing at 4%+, the labor market and salaries will grow enough such that anyone who wants a living wage, and is willing to work, can become more affluent. As "antipoverty" programs shrink with a growing economy, they should be abolished at the first opportunity.

I read "The Quest for Cosmic Justice" and would highly recommend it. Sowell is spot on in his analysis of leftist policy: that it is all about making one feel good about doing something rather than actually developing effective strategies and policies.

And don't forget, teach self reliance and free market economics first. The postmodern statists can't deal with self-reliance. It makes them irrelevant.

Remember the old adage:" Give a man a fish and he's is feed for a meal, Teach him to fish and he is feed a life time" or something similar is found in almost all cultures. Also, it is ignored by most cultures, especially the more "Humane" and "Enlightened" ones.
You can't just say get a job or go to work if the people have no skills. Give them an education that provides the skills necessary to get the job or go to work. Instead of spending money on welfare, spend it on job training, education or skill improvement..
Teach "Blue collar skills as well as the White Collar ones. Teach any skill that allows the individual to contribute and grow.
