Facism: People own the means of production and from each to each according to greatest potential. To create superior humans.
Both ideologies use similar tactics to get what they want.
Both disrespect individual rights.
Both systems have eliminated individuals who buck a said system. And will continue to do so.
ECONOMIC SYSTEMS
Socialism: The means of production are owned by the state.
Communism: The means of production are owned by the prolatariot. (Which they twist to actually mean the state.)
Fascism, Nazism: The means of production are owned by the people, but controlled by the state.
Capitalism: The means of production are owned and controlled by the people, the government stays out of it

What dino's dangerous mind also imagined as I wrote the above was all the Nutty Nancys missing me save one for who managed to hit my heart with a ricochet that bounced up off a rock between us.

Yet term2 raises a good point. Who should pay?
Most cultures/societies give preference/care/protection to groups such as children, elderly, invalids, victims, lunatics .. For example, the Confucian ethic says 'respect your elders'. (The older I get the more I agree with that.)
There can be many opinions but what is certain is that a culture that does not care for its children is doomed.
Is there a contradiction with Galt's Oath? No, a culture of care does not define who is to pay. It can be voluntary- when there is an expectation that parents care for their own child, this extends to close family, and then to extended family, then to getting insurance and asking volunteers.
The news reports are confusing, seems there were 90 divers 50 of them non-Thais.
There are two groups of countries, those who send both government aid and volunteers, and those who are not seen whatever their wealth and capability.
One volunteer was an Australian anaesthetist who is an experienced cave diver. He was the medic that went into the cave to check the boys.
I don't know if the Thai gov paid him, if it were my tax money it would not rank in the top million on my protest list.
In the USA the same thing is done by "rebuilding" an area damaged by mother nature when it happens over and over again. Instead of populating safer areas, people are encouraged to rebuild in these places that are repeatedly subjected to disasters.
The coach of age 25 was in charge as leader, the only adult.
In retrospect it is easy to say that this yet another example of a nice person, well meaning, who did not take the proper precautions when having authority.
Other than that I agree with your comment.
Having deep caring emotions is ok, but before taking action, think it through.
I suppose we will hear no more of this story, will the coach be charged? Convicted? Being Thailand he could go permanently into a monastery.
(I would not be surprised if McCain was dirty on this, but I don't see clear evidence in this article.)
