Never Underestimate the Power of a Question, by Robert Gore
MAGA was the Trump acronym; his symbol should have been the question mark. The two are related. The acronym implies America is no longer great, which prompts the obvious question: Why? The source of most of the vitriol directed toward Trump is not so much his answers, which have often been contradicted by his actions. Trump’s transgression is that he dared to question in the first place: immigration policy, foreign military intervention, trade agreements, costs of alliances, corruption, and so on.

There is a history of the world's perception of the United States as a unique institution, made up of troublemakers and risk takers. We are seen as well intended, lacking in sophistication, preferring the risks of individual freedom over the security of collectivism. Obama tried to change that image, and the rest of the world community wasn't receptive. Despite all of the media handwringing and public agonizing by some political figures, it seems that Trump has revived the American "cowboy" image that international figures so love and despise.
We are well-intended because the foundation of our nation is on individual liberties. It is only when people start encroaching on these liberties that we run into problems. The Old World has been antithetical to individual liberty since its founding and they don't like the apple cart being overturned.
Lacking in sophistication is better termed lacking in sophistry. The European Old Guard has existed for centuries and we've seen what they've given the last several centuries - either territorial wars or appeasement that foments even bloodier wars. I think it is to America's great credit that we haven't gone down that path. And then I am reminded of several of our more recent conflicts and realize that America under some regimes has done just what the European Old Guard did.. =(
Risk v reward is what has brought America to the forefront economically so quickly. The focus on free markets has allowed the entrepreneurial spirit its full range - and has brought about unprecedented prosperity as a result. This provides a firm historical foundation for comparison against all other nations and their oppressive governmental structures and regulations.
The race known as blacks demonstrate well what most people want from their government. It is not protection in individual liberties it is the ability to plunder those 'others' around you. If this were not so no 'blacks' would not associate with the Democratic party ever considering its track record in how the party has consistently taken advantage of them and still does.
Philosophy for most has been reduced to what appears to be a question but is really a two part attack on liberty. "You want healthcare to be available to people don't you?" Which for the socialist means individuals don't have the right to choose because that would mean the poor would be left out unless violence can be used to plunder the people and determine for them if they will receive it.
I like your last paragraph, government and education has made an intellectual tar pit in the arena of ideas and philosophy, all who enter are mired and extinguished, quickly if they struggle or slowly if they wait.
We welcome Trumpets Statements and Questions, in the short term, it's been working out but be forewarned, the progressive snake has been cornered.
Truth be thy anti venom.
I suspect President Trump has some degree of a problem with drugs, alcohol, or mental illness that causes him to ramble contradictory random thoughts. Anyone who wants to can cherry pick from the rambling and show he has the audacity to raise serious issues.
I really hope I'm wrong about this. I hope it's an act, poor public presentation, unfavorable portrayal by journalists, or some combination of those.
"The second amendment to our constitution is clear. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed upon. PERIOD"

We will soon see the 27 8x10 glossy pictures, with a paragraph on the backs of each one to be used as evidence against them...Arlo Guthrie.
The anti-Trump stuff is now desperation. Wasn't there someone who said, "If that [euphemizing] bastard wins we'll all hang from nooses."
Yesterday it was reported that the top rats of the DOJ or FBI or both had a spy illegally planted within the Candidate Trump campaign.
Rush said that the identity of this mole should be revealed soon.
He praised asset forfeiture too. But I don't think he means any of it. I think he's a drunk showman mindlessly running his mouth.
I have no evidence at all that he uses any drugs. I've known a few people with his mannerism who turned out to be hardcore users, BUT this is a very small sample size. Plus I cannot judge from his public persona. It's just a suspicion. I would bet some money President Trump is a user of alcohol or drugs but certainly not all my money because I could easily be wrong.
