    It's disgusting. Whenever gov't officers have a power like this, to take things with the burden of proof being on the victim of the takings, it invariably leads to this kind of thing.

    The last paragraph is radical but rings true to me. I think local gov'ts and rank-and-file officers know the war on drugs is wrong. Drugs are a real problem and when it comes to the question of whether a it's a criminal problem, a little cash tips the scales and wins support.

    The Tenth Amendment should be called the forgotten amendment, at risk of offending the other Amendments that we've heavily interpreted.

      The TAC never fails to be crystal clear in pointing out and detailing government transgressions. When it comes to asset forfeiture the only reason I can conclude that it continues is that federal officials and state agencies are getting wealthy from it. All should be prosecuted.
