I hope AS3 will be far better than the first 2

When I think of AS1, I remember many scenes of trains and miserable music that fought against the plot. AS2 I do not recall at all. I sure hope AS3 is *far* better than the first 2. I got the feeling that the folks who made AS1 and AS2 did not understand Rand's philosophy:(

I enjoyed both movies and the music for both. The music fit the theme of each movie. Opening the John Galt Line is soaring and pure motive power. The music in part 2 is halting and embodies the slowing and stopping of the engines of production.

Well David Kelly was on site while they were both being filmed giving guidance. Most would consider him an expert on Objectivism. The executive producer, Mr. Aglialoro sat on the board for ARI for several years.I enjoyed the first AS very much. db saw the third movie (unfinished) and that it was better than the first two. Keep in mind, the movies have probably brought thousands to exploring AR and reading AS

I found the first two movies very faithful to the book. Not complete, but then no 1000+ page book is going to be reproduced completely in even 6 hours of video.

The test for me is what my kids say. They watched both I and II. They commented that they weren't going to win any academy awards, but the story itself was interesting enough that they finished the movie, and are asking when the 3rd will be out so that they get the conclusion of the story.

I've gone back to watch some of the true classics - Gone with the Wind, Citizen Kane, Taxi Driver, 007 Dr. No, etc. The soundtracks (at least that which wasn't pop music) are atrocious. I venture to say that Citizen Kane today would be lambasted as a slow, plodding snooze fest. I guess you need to calibrate your expectations.

I really liked AS1, including the trains and music. It gave me the feeling of being in the modern world but with the recession of 08-09 getting worse. People get scared and want stability. The cool kids know how to sell it. Meanwhile people are inventing solutions, but they're being hammered by cool politicians responding to public fear. The bridge was an application of an amazing new material, one step of people using ingenuity to deal with high fuel prices. The book felt dated, but the movie took the exact same concept and made them feel modern, with images and music, not expository dialogue. It shows rather than tells.

I didn't care for AS2 as much, but I think it was great for introducing the material to someone who doesn't want to read the book.

I actually thought the first two were good and faithful to the original book. I'm looking forward to Part III.

Even if you hated the movies, at least in Part II you got to hear Teller talk. That was worth the price of admission. :)
