No one sees the parallel here with people thanking God for what their doctors did? You know, right here in the good old USA?
I would think the North Koreans would have more reason to do this than Americans do...after all, we SHOULD know better. The North Koreans have been brainwashed.
National Geographic Channel broadcast a half hour that followed an "eye doctor" who was in North Korea to treat cataracts in the local population. A journalist embedded herself in the doctor's team and managed to film a bit of the strange place that is North Korea. The surrealism is profound. Near the end of the half hour, the doctor was in a roomful of people with eye patches who were awaiting removal of the bandages. A couple of people were filmed as the bandages were removed. Of course, they were overjoyed with regaining their sight. However, they did not thank the doctor. They immediately genuflected and praised the great leader for granting them their eyesight. My question for this thread is this, "Are these people and most people in North Korea truly brainwashed to the level of being true devotees and slaves of the leader, or are they just so frightened and intimidated that they dare not deviate from the path of complete subservience?
The easy answer is, of course,..a little of both. But, just look at how progressives in this country mystified, disempowered and marginalized the leftest, democratic population. Now, times that by 100 toward people with little to no education with no experience with the rest of the world then,.,. you might just have North Korea
The formidable progressive force in this country will never give up on establishing open borders to flood this country with mooching future Dimwitcrat useful idiot voters. It's there greatest hope of controlling an indoctrinating the entire population.
This is said to be the tallest unoccupied building in the world . I highly doubt that claim. It is likely a building used by and for the elite and the people who have given North Korea the nuclear and the missile technology . The shape is telling. The Hotel of Doom or The Ryugyong Hotel is 330 metres (1,080 ft) tall,[9] making it the most prominent feature of Pyongyang's skyline and by far the tallest structure in North Korea. Construction of the Ryugyong Hotel was intended to be completed in time for the 13th World Festival of Youth and Students in June 1989; had this been achieved, it would have held the title of world's tallest hotel. The unfinished building was not surpassed in height by any new hotel until the 2009 completion of the spire atop the Rose Tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Ryugyong Hotel is the world's 63rd tallest building (tied with the China World Trade Center Tower III, Zhuhai St. Regis Hotel & Office Tower, and Yuexiu Fortune Center l in height) and has the tenth most floors.[citation needed] It is also the tallest unoccupied building in the world.[10] https://www.google.com/search?q=Hotel...
The building consists of three wings, each measuring 100 metres (330 ft) long, 18 metres (59 ft) wide, and sloped at a 75‑degree angle,[11] which converge at a common point to form a pinnacle. The building is topped by a truncated cone 40 metres (130 ft) wide, consisting of eight floors that are intended to rotate, topped by a further six static floors. The structure was originally intended to house five revolving restaurants, and either 3,000 or 7,665 guest rooms, according to different sources.[12][13] According to Orascom's Khaled Bichara in 2009, the Ryugyong will not be just a hotel, but rather a mixed-use development, including "revolving restaurant" facilities along with a "mixture of hotel accommodation, apartments and business facilities".[3]
I'm pretty sure it would be the latter. In a totalitarian dictatorship where every word, action, or thought is carefully monitored, any deviation is suspect and the first step toward annihilation.
The Socialists present “Ruling Class” extravagance as the result of Marxist societies. There are two messages to present to the starry eyed. 1. You will not be a member of the Ruling Class. 2. Study the following Ruling Class folks: Stalin, Mao, Castro. Take a look at Venezuela for a live action experiment in Socialism.
