The great kings of past empires kept court jesters for a reason. They were the only ones in the realm who could 'tell the truth' about politics without being imprisoned for treason because they did it in jest. The only way the king could really tell how popular he was or the truth of what was happening in his kingdom was through satire, because everyone else would only tell him what he wanted to hear. If only our current king had such wisdom.
