Aerosols to reduce global warming?
Since global warming is the tag in the summer and climate change is in the winter, and since science has not followed its own rules of observation and rigorous experimentation regarding climate change, we can safely say that the following prediction made by Rand in "What Is Capitalism?" is reaching its maturity:
"The disintegration of philosophy in the nineteenth century and its collapse in the twentieth have led to a similar, though much slower and less obvious, process in the course of modern science.
Today’s frantic development in the field of technology has a quality reminiscent of the days preceding the economic crash of 1929: riding on the momentum of the past, on the unacknowledged remnants of an Aristotelian epistemology, it is a hectic, feverish expansion, heedless of the fact that its theoretical account is long since overdrawn—that in the field of scientific theory, unable to integrate or interpret their own data, scientists are abetting the resurgence of a primitive mysticism. In the humanities, however, the crash is past, the depression has set in, and the collapse of science is all but complete.
The clearest evidence of it may be seen in such comparatively young sciences as psychology and political economy [and climate science?]. In psychology, one may observe the attempt to study human behavior without reference to the fact that man is conscious. In political economy, one may observe the attempt to study and to devise social systems without reference to man. [In climate science, one may observe the attempt to rationalize outcomes without appealing to evidence, that is, without reducibility to the data of the senses.]
It is philosophy that defines and establishes the epistemological criteria to guide human knowledge in general and specific sciences in particular."

What a good post..
21st century science is trying to pick the fruit without knowing how to seed more plants. Do we need a revision of scientific method in order to incorporate a greater philosophic input which is based on logic and rationality? In the past, that was a given. Today - not so much.
Climate: we are already on a Grand Solar Minimum climate journey in which we will naturally have more than an abundance of cloud cover; Mother nature seems to have that covered with it's own Aerosols and cosmic rays that will create more than enough clouds to block out sunlight, cool down the troposphere, making growing food difficult and risky and providing a reason for civilizations to collapse just as it has every 400 years since our planet and solar system came on line. (truth with a bit of sarcasm).
Besides an off kilter scientific philosophy, some (politically and financially motivated) scientist have chosen to ignore the natural cycles known to even, non-conscious bicameral man for 100's of thousands of years.
Liberal progressive parasitical humanoids do the strangest things...do they not?
There are a number of theories that purport to explain the geoengineering and aerosol programs, some of which are likely organic while others are intentionally developed and planted to keep us confused and away from the truth. Regardless, each of them needs to be considered in light of all of the facts we have and viewed through the revealing lens of psyops. Remember, what is not talked about is often far more important than what is actually discussed. While some theories may be true or even part of larger operations or programs, others can be easily disproven as false, uninformed or intentional disinformation.
In chapter two we will examine some of these theories and poke holes in them where appropriate. In addition, we need to further explore the use and abuse of the word ‘Chemtrails’, a very broad and indistinct term commonly used to describe all we observe visually and chemically. It may be vitally important to publically abandon the use of this word and use persistent aerosols and non-persistent aerosols instead. The distinction is relevant and will be parsed further in chapter two."

When it is not happening.
The warm up from mid 70's to
98 occurred at the same time the sunspot activity as very frequent. Now we have a quiet sun and global cooling.See GSM and the Maunder Minimum. Wait till the volcanic activity picks up and we will all long for warming.
I know those are works of fiction but all contain the same "what you can do maybe you shouldn't do" message.
Or maybe I should also reveal me dino's initial reactionary thought, which was "Using aerosols to reduce global warming strikes me as kinda air-headed."
Consider how much air there is surrounding this planet.
Me dino remembers when aerosols were blamed at least in part for global warming.
I recall a cartoon that shows a group of EcoNazis protesting the exhaust fumes of a farmer's tractor, though it's pulling a plow assembly..
The defiant farmer stands up on the tractor and lifts high a can of some aerosol product which goes "PSST! PSST!" upward into the air.
I think you're thinking of when propellants used with aersols contributed to a decrease in O3 at the poles. This was not related to global warming. The propellants were changed an the problem went away.
"Consider how much air there is surrounding this planet."
Most astronauts only go to low earth orbit, where the earth stretches out below them, still to close to be a sphere. I have heard seeing that thin layer of atmosphere juxtaposed with the size of the earth and vastness of space is striking.
"The defiant farmer stands up on the tractor and lifts high a can of some aerosol product which goes "PSST! PSST!" upward into the air."
A defiant world solved the problem, but no matter what throughout history people crop up who trash stuff to make a token statement in favor of vandalism, to provoke a reaction, or for no good reason.

#2 Astronauts look down. Dinosaurs look up.
#3 That damn vandalizing cartoon farmer needs to get whacked.
Interesting. I did not know that. I thought it had reduced by 50%. This shows it's actually more like 20%, and it's not clear because the data is noisy. There's also stuff about it being a function of altitude and being difficult to measure.
Consider the repeats of a bouncing rubber ball. Bouncy, bouncy!
Whoa! I just recalled an old hit song that I haven't even thought about for years~

"ring" correct. They can attempt to perform banjoes all day. Then their vices can get a meeting with succulent nonsense. The planet Nonsense welcomes them. It's their new home. They can shout "climate change" all day. The laws of physics will cater to their whims there. They can spread their blankets of cheating reality on trains which get from shelters where they conduct their revolts against smartness.Their flags can wave in the neophonic sounds of maelstroms.Their tones ot with their hatred of Earth can cause the winds to carry their words to the depths of their nonsenses and nonsensical refrains of attempts at versions of meteorological democracy.
Viewing the history of man and projecting forward watching his current attempts at betraying reality and expecting results perhaps the best way to live free is to live unobserved by the masses.
It gives me an ancient feeling of Agamemnon walking on the sacred carpet, but I ignore it. There are no gods to displease. We have only our human observations, reason, and abilities.
I wonder if there are any models where if we people own land around lake and someone wants to use fertilizer on his grass the runs off into the lake that increases algae making it unsafe to swim in the lake. Other land owners want to do some treatment to reduce algae, counteracting the effects of the fertilizer runoff and making it even better for swimming than it would be without the runoff. The person deploying the fertilizer should have to pay for an amount equal to how much of the cost to others he caused. Whatever system there is for this, it's a prime candidate for gov't to get involved and milk the problem.
