This is a viable litmus test - we will likely be labelled contrarians, or obstructionists - but in the end it is naive to presume that the powers that be intend to use the power and money to achieve their proposed ends... (regardless of how unnecessary) - after all, how many programs have their funding regularly diverted to other programs that don't have the voter initiative?
Did anyone else appreciate the irony of this article..? As someone who is so obviously an aficionado of the literary arts, it's interesting to read an article that at it's core is saying "Judge a book by its cover."
Not to ignore her 'finer' point in doing so - but ironic nonetheless :)
On a side-note though, I used to listen and read a lot of Glenn Beck - and I really only agree with him on classic libertarian matters. That aside however, isn't it weird just how much the uninformed non-viewers fear this man?!?! I find it hilarious that they view him as being such a tremendous threat! To listen to the media at large, you would think each release of a Glenn Beck book is a direct edict to reinstate the Third Reich, when in reality he's just a religious conservative with a little more humor.
Wait... Paul Ryan waived Atlas Shrugged around on the House floor? Hadn't heard about that...
It's also interesting to me that the author concluded this insufferably long article with the description of "a cheap appeal directed at people who will believe anything." And the article is entitled "I Got Duped..."
