Hi. My name is English. That's right, English. (PS, I'm a woman.)

The first time I read ATLAS SHRUGGED was in college. My college roommate introduced me to the genius and vision of Ayn Rand. We voraciously read her fiction and non-fiction.

A bunch of things have changed since then, but not my admiration and respect for Rand's ideas. It is odd, but logically you would think that the roommate who ended up marrying a rich guy who made his money in the tech boom and who stays at home with their two kids in a nice house in a yuppy neighborhood in Madison, WI would still be cheerleading for John Galt. Not so. It's the other one, the roommate who had to work her way up, got married, divorced, got pregnant and survives a single parent who is still in love with John Galt, Hank Rearden and Howard Roark (FOUNTAINHEAD). No matter what I say, my old friend refuses to see how the nanny-state policies of our government are leading us into the economic meltdown that Rand predicted. Since leaving Texas 10 years ago, she has bought the Madison liberal Kool-Aid.

I am so excited to be in a community of like-minded conservatives who believe in hard work and good money.

Does Paul Ryan remind you guys of Hank Rearden a little? :)
