The Heinlein Thread, moved from "Bricklayers"
There were a few notes about Heinlein in another thread, which really deserve a thread of their own. So here is one.
I often recommend "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" to people, not only because it's beautifully written, but also because there are so many libertarian scenes and moments -- like "How might courts work in a free society?"

Seems a very human trait to piddle in everyone else's business. But I also recommend reading Starship Troopers for LtCol Dubois' dissertation on value when Johnny Rico was in high school. Another book I just thought of is Farnham's Freehold, also by RAH. Interesting read. A fleshing out of the History and Moral Philosophy course alluded to in Starship Troopers is provided by Tom Kratman in The Lotus Eaters, for those who are still interested at this point.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|

But everyone else has the freedom of a citizen, just not some of the privileges like voting.Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink|
