I enjoy Dan Carlin's commentary. He publishes podcasts on policy and history at irregular intervals. He can make it interesting without feigned outrage and facile solutions.

From his latest show, published last week:
"Because the presidency is so much more powerful than it should be, it doesn't matter what the specific views of the person in power are. If their plan is not to dial back their own power, then I don't think they're doing us good. We haven't had anyone in the White House seeking to do that. It's human. They're not all nefarious. Their attitudes are, 'Listen I got elected to do a job. I'm certainly not going to give a bunch of power back to, for example the Congress, who will use that power, if they'll even take it, to thwart my agenda.' "
