It's ludicrous that in the most successful capitalist society in history the wealthy have been so demonized. Trump has moved in these circles since he was a child, so why should it be so surprising that he chooses others from wealth and power.
And me dino is very interested in seeing how this will work out. Trump has trumpeted that his orchestrated results shall make things so much better. The orchestra he has assembled has hardly begun to tune up. Let the audience chat of their expectations Christmastime At Jurassic World approves of this metaphoric message.
I've always been bothered by elected and appointed politicians that go into office with 'nominal' incomes and assets, then come out of office with millions, even their relatives and close friends.
It'll be interesting to see what previously wealthy appointees do, even though I might have some concerns how their wealth originally came from. There simply is no such thing as 'clean hands' in government.
I am not as concerned with how much money you have or all the details of how you earned it as I am with what you do with it. The way I see Trump and all of his rich appointment picks is that none of them needed the pains of what they will go through and they could just as easily have stayed comfortable right at home enjoying their wealth. I respect them for trying because I know they will be met with fierce resistance all the way. All of them could easily pick up their balls and go home and take the ball court, playing field and golf courses with them.
Oh no! Successful business people trying to run the government. How will that work out. Best to get those liberal college professors that really know how to run a business in there.
Its not amount of wealth that matters. The Clintons are near billionaires, too. Obama is a multi-millionaire. Every Democrat that ran for the presidency has millions at their disposal and none of them have any recent experience that gives them any empathy for average Americans. Obama has spent every moment of the past 8 years throwing average Americans under the bus and repeatedly running over them. I do not care for some of Trump's choices. i do not much care for Trump either, but it isn't the amount of money they have that matters to me. Their actions to acquire their wealth does matter to me.
Not a peep by the MSM of Obama burying his most anti-Semite act to date - abstaining in the security council vote and resolution ordering Israel to roll back their settlements.
Isn't it refreshing, there are no poor people that don't know how to succeed coming to his cabinet. I wonder, but not that I ever really want to know, what Hillary would have lined her halls with? Would it have been the Sharpton's, Maddow's, the guy that drizzled down his leg when Obama got elected, kind of staff?
Let’s see here, one can gain wealth by earning it, begging it or stealing it. Each method has its own skill set. I prefer the earning it skill set, which makes the proposed Cabinet the greatest I have seen. And, it does not hurt to reflect that at the time of the Revolutionary War, George Washington was the most wealthy man in America.
I wouldnt characterize them as "wealthy". They are basically rational and successful and therefore wealthy. I think they will do a far better job than the politically correct liberals Obama appointed.
For me Wibur Ross is one I am not terribly fond of. The Rothschilds could be the most evil family ever and it is widely believed that Soros is their "front man ". But Trump is his boss. So if he doesn't do the job "he's fired"
The more legitimately earned cash in the cabinet, the better. Of course, networking and relationships play a role in any business enterprise. Nevertheless, I prefer them to be expensive to bribe.
Excellent point. We know politicians set the bribe level low, just from looking at the grafters that have been caught. The kakistocracy has ruled by the bribe. Now we have a Trump administration of people who claim to be sick of paying those bribes. If they are serious, who better to clean it out than those who know what has been done.
And know which ones really need to be shown the airlock.
These are people that know how to organize a large team and focus on results, something Obama's team of college professors, agitators, and community organizers had zero experience with. That's why the last 8 years have been such a failure.
No one mentions John Kerry's wealth - married to Ms Heinz ketchup. Or Pelosi, husband is Mr Starkist Tuna.
Remember the image of Obama in 2008, looking like FDR with shit-eating grin and pencil cigarette sticking up in the air? It was billed as the New New Deal.
And in came the think tank liberals, executive orders, attempts to stack the Supreme Court, money manipulation, shovel ready jobs, blaming the Hoover/Bush Administration, global warhawkism, NYT reporting on Stalin/Castro's paradise.....
Feinstein's husband didn't know shit about building a railroad but auto-magically got the award for California's high speed rail project after the feds kicked-in money.
"Always follow the Money"...use this to guide your hopes for "...a different approach.."
Obama appointed Goldman Sachs people to run the financial positions in his cabinet...so has Trump...
Goldman is "too big to fail" and one of the stockholders in the Federal Reserve...
Small business is the largest job creator in a capitalist economy...there was no one from that list in Obama's administration, nor, so far, on Trump's...
