The iPad is my high school daughter's favorite toy. It is both a tool and a leisure item.

I don't know the science well enough. My initial response would be skepticism. Good parents understand the importance of moderation and that children need to get outside, feel the sun on their faces and fun around. Playing sports develops skills outside of just running around. BUt tablets and smart phones are fabulous tools that can add to a student's knowledge.
