Dale; just watched the entire interview and Dayaamn. I discovered more about you and your depth and breadth of thought than I have in any of your writings, your talks, and your input here in the Gulch. I give Mark his points for bringing you out, but I'm deeply impressed.

It makes me wish we could have a few hours to sit and trade thoughts back and forth. Txs for posting the interview and I strongly recommend that anyone interested in what truly understanding Rand and her philosophy can do for a life, listen to this interview.

Thank you Dale for pointing out that Ayn Rand did not write about Corporations. I've always believed she wrote about capitalism and the men who owned and took full responsibility and pride in their business and contrasted the corporate business world that lived on crony capitalism and skirted taking any responsibility or pride in their business.

One thing that comes to mind is , in this country we don't get bright reasoning experienced ethical candidates to guide this resource rich USA.

Enjoyed the interview Dale...thanks for passing it on. Nice to know who you are. I am also happy that you found inspiration at an early age...took me until my 50's to find that kind of inspiration that actually revitalized my own consciousness.

I think I had a pretty good idea of DB's persona based on his writings, which has been one of the top benefits of the Gulch for me. The interview filled in the cracks and gave some new insights. I had thought my career was varied, but his is every bit as varied, though unlike me, however, he's doing it all at once.

As Halling says in the interview, Roark never gets to say I told you so, but I was completely satisfied with Keating having to come and ask him to work on that design, essentially admitting the truth. Roark doesn't feel any need to gloat. He's interested in the actual work. As for the politics, Roark is somewhere between feeling sorry for Keating's predicament and just not caring.

I agree completely with the part about job jumping. Not only do you learn the most in the first year, but employers usually pay a percentage more than the last job, without much regard to the employee's skills/accomplishments. For this reason, it's beneficial to jump and get ahead.

People thought he was crazy for taking the Tektronix sales job. I bet they thought the same when he hung out a shingle. IMHO it's a good sign if at least some people think you're doing something really risky or wrongheaded.

I need to listen to the 2nd half yet.
