writing friend of mine has out a new book for pre-order-here's what he has to say: "This book is the product of four years of research, and documents 200 reasons why Obama ranks at the bottom of all U.S. Presidents. I’ve set the pre-order price at a mere 99 cents, a real bargain for such a thoroughly documented book, but my goal is to make sure as many people read as possible!"

Carter was just a nothing president. Obama is evil, arrogant, petulant, and entitled. Brings all those things out in the very black people he is trying to help. At this point, it has infected a lot of black people, and its working to increase racial intolerance, not reduce it.

Carter was simply naive, or it seems so now at any rate. If he had only done nothing he would have escaped being considered bad.

        1. The fundamentalist revolution in Iran, and the hostage crisis happened while he was in office.
        2. Gave away the panama canal
        3. Energy/Oil crisis
        4. Stagflation with the accompanying insane interest rates.

My understanding was that Carter assisted the Ayatollah Khomeini in getting into power in Iran, replacing the (until then) Western-friendly government of the Shah. This is what turned Iran into an Islamic theocracy. Thanks, Jimmy! I also have a documentary on DVD, "In the Face of Evil," which documents Ronald Reagan's life and career as President. About 45 minutes into the documentary, it claims that during the 1980 presidential campaign, Carter was running for reelection, and approached Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev for his assistance in defeating Ronald Reagan. I had never heard that before, but asking for foreign donations from our primary adversary during the Cold War is, to me, tantamount to Treason. My opinion of Carter was low before I saw this documentary, but it sank quite a few notches lower still. Carter also terminated our country's research and development program for liquid metal fast breeder reactors (I'm a nuclear engineer), and so Carter should rank near the very bottom of the list too, right next to Clinton and Obama.

As I recall it, and it was a long time ago, the Shah needed some advanced medical care not available in Iran. I don't remember if it was cancer, or kidneys, but something that had to be treated. When the Shah left for treatment, Khomeini was allowed back into Iran and staged a religious takeover, including the seizure of our embassy. The captured embassy staff was held in miserable conditions, paraded and humiliated publicly and before the media. For over a year.

I am unclear of the details on who allowed him back into Iran, since he had sought asylum in France? at the time.

Here is a good summary of what happened. I was on a diesel submarine inPhilly at the time, we had an Iranian crew the Sate Dept sent back, and they were all shot on the runway. Carter was an ass. The US was no better:

An awful lot of people were killed by the fundamentalists at the time, and many times more since.

State doesn't count it as a kill unless it was an approved conflict requested by UN, approved by Congress including the War Powers Act., and the left changes sides within three months. Then it's the fault of the military for being sent there and it goes in the war crimes column. It also requires script approval after the fact by the lame stream media and CNN

I believe this is a tactic the Clintons picked up as well, and now seems to be a tactic employed by many Ds: getting our adversaries to pay for their re-elections. The Clintons loved to blast the Chinese for 'human rights violations' while tapping them on the shoulder for campaign donations. How many missile secrets did Slick Willy let the Chinese have on his watch?

Whom else would be happier to pay for the demise of the U.S. ?

Abbortion another example. The barbaric Chinese use a syringe with formaldehyde through the soft spot as the head is crowning . A fairly late term stage of birth.

The US favored surgical shears shoved in the back of the neck then the brain sliced and diced into mush. Until the practice of abortion during birth was stopped. At some point a womans right to choose turned into murder of a citizen. A point lost on the left. But then they probably didn't have any of us soldiers left to kill off for nothing. in their fascist wars.

Add it up yourself. US military killed in wars started by Democrats versus those started by Reublicans. Don't go back past Korea. That' will get you 18 to 1. Add in WWI and WWI 'it hundreds to one. So much for socialist mendacity. Most blood thirsty war mongers on the planet other than their friends in Russia and China.

That's what objective facts will do for you. Creates a very clear picture of real history. Give peace a chance? Easy kill a Democrat. Who by the way have yet to comply with the war powers act. Moot point now the Republicans have joined them I suppose.

You ever notice how socialists regimes seem to be the most belligerent towards each other?

It took me YEARS to resolve why the Democrats were some of the most fervent haters of Communist China & the USSR back in the 70s and 80s (..and in to the 90s culminating with Tienamen Square). It bothered me to wonder why the UK and other socialistic governments were hardest on the Communist regimes, especially as they seemed to approximate their own ideological utopias.

Finally figured it all out one day.

I must have been asleep during his presidency. I remember him as a nothing, except the Iran thing. He just didnt have a good foreign policy stand, similar to Obama actually. Foreign leaders think Obama is an idiot, which he is, when it comes to dealing with people. Plus, he is a muslim at heart, not an american.

I wonder on the Panama Canal Zone and yes I was there as it occured.

His State Department destroyed lots of lives of the locals most of whom were dead set against the give away.

They approved the in country vote much of which was falsified.

They falsified the treat itself in a number of ways. One stated a US Citizen employee of the Canal Zone Government or Company after the treat was signed would pay no taxes on any employment income. This was said to stop a rush for the border and keep qualified people on hand for the 20 year hand over period.l Also Panama citizens would continue to pay no taxes to the USA. which didn't apploy anyway.

          They lied.

It went to court up to circuit level and the argument was 'that was technical language to keep US citizens from paying taxes to Panama.

The reason was to ensure we would keep our mouths shut about the faults in the treaty.

As a result many locals lost there retirement.

Another was ensuring that any US Citizen employee or not arrested in Panama would be reported to the US Embassy within 24 hours and have their US Civil rights etc. . Sounds good?

Panama was under Napoleonic Code . Police had no arrest powers. They could only detain pending completion of investigation. Same thing same jail and it might take six or so months.

So a drug running dictator took overe and then got dumped, literally out of a helicopter, and replaced by a worse dictator and the funny part is they never gave it to the real owners. That would be the country of Columbia.

On a bright note the Panamanians after that have cleaned up the place a lot put in a good infrastructure, and got the Chinese to pay for it.

Something else the US State Department couldn't manage.

Jimmy wasn't allowed to see much of the area even denied helicopter fly over rights in the zone itself. Too many Panamanians were after his ass when the saw there future as dictrated by El Cacahuate Jimmy Carter and even with the military and the police on full alert (US assets) thought the risk was far to great.

For the locals going back and forth on the train they provided a 30 minute one man search of the cars and engine.

I can first hand attest to that. The report said. While nothing untoward or out of place was noticed there are no guarantees due to the limited time allowed for the search.

          Side note in history.

He maiy not have killed as many but it wasn't from lack of not caring.

Freedom, I am not so sure that it was all electorate. There were so many examples of fraud in 08/12, yet nothing was ever heard from it again. I wonder if the fix has been in in that I cannot even go to my County seat and observe votes being counted, and I have seen "close" elections here, have 2 or 3 recounts, and magically change state. It would take no great skill to make electronic voting machines say what you want. Just as Hillary can have all the super delegates she needs. They rig things, the arrogant worms.

To say that Obama is a failed president, you must have some standard to compare him to. If you use the standard of doing everything you can for America, then he's obviously a failure. If you use the standard of doing everything you can to take down America, then he's quite successful.
Reply | Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink

True. However taking down America is not the preferred standard we rate a president by.

On the destruction side he does have some competition for the title of "best" as well, Woodrow Wilson and FDR for instance.

More good examples, Tech. Let's not omit Lincoln and LBJ, renowned war criminals, from the race either.

Lincoln - Effectively turned a voluntary union of states into a prison sentence with a term of forever.

LBJ - Escalated Vietnam but most destructive of all started the whole diversity/multiculturalism farce. With the assistance of Edward Kennedy changed the immigration sources from western cultures to anywhere but. Leading to what we are beginning to truly experience now...balkanization... anyone think that is a good outcome?

Every president has made some decisions we have judged as mistakes with the benefit of hindsight. Many innocently, but not always.

It is hard to judge the worst of the worst, LBJ did seem to really believe he was doing something right, despite the overwhelming moves against him, which was one reason he gave up. He basically spawned the Blue Dog Democrap movement. he could never come up with a good way to make even a small majority happy. The power brokers took every advantage of it, too.

I think I've thrown this out before, so I hope nobody minds a rehash...

According to a study I just read, Obama is the 5th best president in history. Here is the full list:

    1. Reagan & Lincoln tied for first,
    2. Twenty three presidents tied for second,
    3. Seventeen other presidents tied for third,
    4. Jimmy Carter came in fourth, and
    5. Obama came in fifth.

To disagree with the statement shows a lack of intelligence. That said does anyone believe that 0 will be affected by what people think of his presidency, NO! The man has a major character defect and is in a world of his own and he simply does not care what people think of him. What puzzles me is the number of people who do not think of him as I suspect so many on this forum do and not on this forum do. That is that he is a complete failure as a human being.

In reference to the book cover,I recall when I first saw Obama all so super vainly looking all chin-chin-chinny up in the air before a large audience like that.
That creepy sight let me know that this creature feature for an all powerful socialist POTUS had a lot more problems than I previously thought.
And I previously thought he already had a freaking lot of problems.

If the only requirement for presidency is to be black, Obama is qualified. BUT, one has to be a good administrator, a good negotiator, intellectually consistent, constitutionally consistent, intelligent, a good communicator to be a good president. One could argue that Obama is a good communicator, but fails miserably in all the other qualifications. I say he is the worst president.

Early on in his reign, (seems like eons ago) I used to get on blogs and point out his failings. The constant leftist repose was "You're such a racist!" To which I would respond "He's as white as he is black, even Morgan Freeman says so. I did not bring up race. You did. I just think he's an incompetent socialist." That would typically end it.

Incidentally, I dont want to deal with entitled people period. But in this day and age, given the size of the population, one has to use profiling on a number of characterists in order to process the huge numbers of people that we meet. Doesnt mean that judgments are irrefutable and unchangeable. People do profiling all the time and I dont see a lot wrong with it. As an example, I would be reluctant to go into certain neighborhoods in Las Vegas where I live on a dark night by myself. I might miss out on a good restaurant which happened to be in one of those neighborhoods, but I will take that chance.

Obama is worst than the worst. Like anti-matter destroys matter, he is the anti-president. If Mrs. Clinkton is elected and carries on his "legacy" the presidency as we know it will be destroyed entirely along with great chunks of the Constitution. Trump will make inroads in this same direction but nowhere near the degree that Clinkton would.

It seems my post was deleted. At least I can't find it. So, lucky folks, here it is again. While I agree Obama is terrible, it would take a lot to put him as worst when you have Adams and his anti-sedition laws and Lincoln who shredded the Constitution such that it became then, and remains now, as mere confetti. How about “Obama is one of the Worst?” I could buy that one easily. I’d read your friend’s book except, in the immortal words of Rhett Butler: “Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn [about Obama].”

Just read a compilation of letters between Abigail and John Adams during the beginning of the revolution until her death. It seems that the anti sedition issue was regretted in later years(Jefferson repealed most of it) and seems to have been fostered by the truly cruel and nasty political tactics of the times, it was originally designed to outlaw false statements about govt officials. That said, it was a colossal irony coming from one who lived the war for Liberty from day one and spent most of his life in service to his Country.

Interesting. Maybe we need to redefine the term "service" to our country. Regret it or not, he did it. Doing it is the crime. Besides, ask any government official, if the statement does not laud them, then it is false.

I was surprised at just how interesting the correspondence was, Abigail and the kids were witness to battles visible from their home and within earshot of the battles in Boston, under those circumstances, over a period of 30 + years I would describe John`s being hundreds of miles from his home, sometimes overseas, working to keep the revolution going, while knowing his family and home were in the thick of it as service to the Nation - before it actually was a Nation. I was also struck at just how similar it was then to how it is now, with regards to politics.

You are right. Not much has changed in politics. Each election is "the most crucial ever," and the nastiest, etc., etc., and yet it is really the same old thing. I was surprised to learn from the book “War is a Lie” the same motivating arguments to get us into wars were repeated for each war starting from the beginning of the country, are still repeated to this day

FDR did the most to change the way Americans think (in a bad way) but he was nowhere near as corrupt as Obama has been...Obama combines the unique skill for distorting the way people view problems and framing issues to demonize legitimate liberty-seekers with the gross corruption of the soviet politboro.
