Then there's the senior generation -- 65+
Then there's me, the ancient generation.
Anyone making it to 65 or more deserves a stipend, if for no other reason than hhaving to put up with humanity for so long. Seniors deserve discounts for gracing the establishments with their presence. Like Asian cultures seniors should be revered for their accumulated wisdom, and their ability to overcome all the medications foisted upon them. Moreover, in this fast moving, hectic life, the example of walking and especially driving slowly should set an example to relax, slow down, it'll still be there when you get there. Finally, and most importantly, seniors deserve discounts and deals simply for existing. They are, as the old movie theaters used to advertise, a Preview of Coming Attractions. Just picture your head on one of those decrepit bodies and you'll know what to expect. That's worth something, isn't it?
so, anyway.
One of my ways of coping with life's vagaries is humor. I, in reality have a terrible temper. However, that is also a terrible waste of energy. To me, humor is the oil that keeps the engine from seizing up. (I also use a lot of metaphors.)
One day as we were driving, she asked me "Mom, why are all the hot cars being driven by old men?"
Before I could answer she said "Oh, yeah...they have the money, they can afford them!"
And non-seniors are free to bargain for discounts of their own, they don't have to accept the higher price offered to them.
