Hi, my name is Patrick, and I am new to the group. I go by Boston TEA because I am a Tea Party organizer and truly believe we are ALL "Taxed Enough Already". We need to have a mindset change in this country, and it needs to happen fast, or we will be forced to dealing with how to recover America's greatness from the wreckage of the collectivism which currently grips the United States.
I read Atlas Shrugged first when I was 16, and have read it 4-5 times since then (I guess the audio book qualifies as "reading" it). I love Ayn Rand's works, and have a number of her older newsletters from the 1960's I had acquired, and even have an article she wrote for Reader's Digest from the 1940's.
I enjoyed and actively promoted Atlas Shrugged Part I. I contacted the distributors, met Scott DeSapio at CPAC 2011, and went to several movie events with the Atlas Society in NYC. I await Part II with anticipation and hope to promote it locally. I hope to arrange screenings of Part I as the release date for Part II approaches.
I have a libertarian bent to my political views. The government needs to get the hell out of our lives at all levels. Hopefully the release of the movie in October will encourage people to read Rand's works, and hence assist in awakening people to the dangerous path we are on: marching "Forward" [insert Obama logo here] to a totalitarian state and losses of our freedoms and liberties.
On a new note...
I have been trying to promote 2016 the movie. It will be very interesting to see how it does. It will also prep me for what needs to be done when AS 2 comes out. I really look forward to that!!
And I think it will be interesting with Paul Ryan in the race, and what that will mean for the movie coming out. Could be VERY interesting!

- 4Posted by fieldsofpoppy 12 years, 3 months agoHi Patrick! Welcome to the Gulch! :) I also love Ayn Rand's works, especially "Atlas Shrugged". I would love to help promote the movie-- I'm located in the NY area, too! I definitely think Paul Ryan's statements are making more people read "Atlas Shrugged", and I'm glad that's it's making a comeback into more popular culture just in time for the release of Part 2!Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
