I argue that both Cruz and Rubio were right in the past to develop serious ways to deal with millions of immigrants who are here illegally. It's their attempts to deny what they did in the past that fosters in the public the view that all politicians are disingenuous. If they honesty change their minds and give good reasons, fine. But this sounds like Romney 4 years ago trying, without much success, to explain his flip-flops. Cruz and Rubio both have good ideas to offer, but they need to maintain their credibility if those ideas are to be taken seriously.

I agree with this article. As usual, they have to make an exception for Rand Paul, who actually does take a stand for limited gov't: "Some of the candidates, Rand Paul most notably, do offer a strong limited-government perspective when discussing particular issues."

There they stood with the chief clown missing. Cruz with a magnificent resume. Accomplishments foew men ever achieve and he did it while very young. Marco Rubio, with odds stacked against him in life, achieved a status few can even aspire to. Carson, possibly the finest pediatric surgeon of all time. And what happens to them? They all turn into clowns, who by and large, miss the point. If you want to denigrate a good person, or even a great person, turn him, or her into a politician.

I'm disappointed to see Rand Paul drop out (though it may be for the best if it means he keeps his Senate seat). But Cruz winning Iowa is a lot better than Trump doing so.

On the Democratic side I'm very encouraged by Bernie Sanders' showing. In a Trump/Hillary general election I would have to vote third party, but if it's Trump/Sanders I think I would choose Sanders (mostly because I think his economic ideas have no chance of making it through Congress).

The "moderaters" did not ask moral questions. Moreover, they treated it as a series of gotcha interviews rather than a debate.

I don't understand why it's so bad if they changed their mind. It's worse they won't admit aloud we have millions living here as underclass, under the radar, and we do not have a clear plan what to do about it. I agree with the article: their gymnastics to try to argue they didn't change their mind make Trump's facile "deport 'em all" nonsense sound refreshingly clear.
