A custom political graph – Combining the aspects of the right and left
The other day I was thinking about how the Libertarian party is essentially a merging of certain aspects from both the Democrat and Republican platforms. Republicans believe in economic freedom, while Democrats believe in social freedom, and Libertarians believe in both types of freedom. In this sense, Libertarianism is essentially a revival of Classical Liberalism.
From the Wikipedia page about Classical Liberalism:
----------------------------------------------
"Both modern American conservatism and social liberalism split from Classical Liberalism in the early 20th century. At that time conservatives adopted the Classic Liberal beliefs in protecting economic civil liberties. Conversely, social liberals adopted the Classical Liberal belief in defending social civil liberties. Neither ideology adopted the pure Classical Liberal belief that government exists to protect both social and economic civil liberties."

After I read this, I started thinking about government tyranny and totalitarianism, and I thought to myself, "If Libertarianism, which is a revival of Classical Liberalism, combines the good aspects of both the modern right and the modern left, wouldn't it also be possible for there to exist the exact inverse – a combination of the *bad* aspects of both the right and the left?"
That thought led me to create this political graph. Let me know what you think.
