I have been a hard core Libertarian since about 1993. I especially admire the Acton Institute. I am the adviser for Madison Liberty at James Madison University. I put no trust in government for anything, but I recognize that it will exist whether we like it or not. So, I seek to minimize its damage by systems engineering methods.

Welcome to the Gulch Joseph. Glad to have you. Have you read Atlas Shrugged?

No, but I have read summaries of it, such as at Wikipedia, and I have discussed it with libertarians and with my brother who did read it. From what I have read and heard about it, I do not look forward to reading it, because it sounds too subjective. It neither sufficiently identifies the causes of socialism, nor offers a sufficiently diverse libertarian vision. Ironically, Ayn Rand's utopia sounds very similar to Karl Marx's. Neither is realistic, because a lot of people like to run others' lives, and a lot of people like their lives run by others.
