MSG occurs naturally in many foods, especially tomatoes and tomato juice, grapes and grape juice, other fruit juices, cheeses such as Parmesan and Roquefort, and mushrooms.
Scares about MSG go back 40 years or more and have been debunked.

I have a personal experience: a group of us met weekly for lunch, one chap said he did not want to eat at Chinese restaurants as they always use MSG to which he was allergic.
We discussed our eating habits and this chap included many on the list given above, especially tomatoes. All but him agreed the problem was really 'Chinese restaurant syndrome',
    he said nothing.
