and how are we supposed to speak to people of color? WTF nonsense is that??? The US is made up of all nationalities. We speak freedom and liberty. The Asians get it-stop whining!
"...but did so without once mentioning slaves’ independent struggles for self-emancipation." and what in the hell do the students at Howard University personally know about that compared to any other american? what?

I read the article as saying libertarianism has a broader appeal than the group of people who have adopted it. Maybe the author is wrong to focus on identity politics (race, sex, etc), but I think he's on the right track about broadening its appeal.

You're making the same mistake that Rand Paul made when he assumed he knew what minorities wanted. He essentially talked about what white Republicans had done to help African Americans, while totally ignoring what African Americans had done to help themselves. If you've ever read Dale Carnegie's famous book, "How To Win Friends and Influence People," you'll know that if you want to get other people to join with you or support your cause, you don't ever talk about yourself – you talk about them. Unfortunately, Rand Paul had unconsciously bought into the Pocahontas narrative of how minorities are helpless savages who need white people to come along and save them, which put both him and his message out of sync with his audience. The student body of Howard University is comprised of roughly 2/3 African Americans, so anyone who comes in with that kind of messiah complex is not going to win many supporters.

Also, Asian-Americans talk about racism and persecution all the time. Haven't you heard about George Takei's new Broadway musical Allegiance?
