But strangely, the climate science community was not interested in what the Sun might do. I pressed on and made a few original contributions to science. The Sun cooperated, and solar activity has played out much as I predicted. It has become established—for those who are willing to look at the evidence—that climate will very closely follow our colder Sun.

Strangely enough, there has been a fair amount of research into sunspot activity and financial markets, with people claiming a positive relationship between the amount of sunspots and the direction of equity markets. I haven't read enough to have an informed opinion, but if this author is correct, we may be in for an extended rough patch. That would correspond to my own prognostication, which is based on the economic and financial implications of debt.

Yes, we're in full agreement about solar activity = climate change. The current models are dependent on humanity = bad. How can that ever work?

I am one of those who believes that the climate follows solar activity as it did in the Maunder Minimum. I just came across this at WUWT.

So your argument is that climate change is real, but that it's caused by temperature fluctuations in the Sun (primarily sunspots) rather than any activity of mankind, and that the solution to the energy problem is to build more thorium molten salt reactors. Is that correct?
