Will Syrian refugees love the U.S. as we do?
Correct me, if I'm wrong, here.
Being a "refugee" from Syria does not translate to a love for the USA...not by a long shot. All it means is that you wished to escape from one undesirable location to another, somewhat less, undesirable location. It means that you can at least be confident that you won't "lose your head" in America.
Now, there is nothing to say that many of these refugees don't hate the U.S. Nothing, at all. They might already hate our country, our ways and our people...even to the point of wishing them all death. Sure, there are many who look forward to our "western ways", but there are also those who despise them.
I am not saying that 10,000 or even 100 Syrian refugees are closet terrorists...I'm not saying that, at all. What I AM saying is that many, if not most of these refugees might hate us to the point that they could be willing targets for the ISIS propaganda, via the Internet. Just because they were "screened" before being allowed to enter our country does not mean they aren't easily converted to Jihadists, while they're here.
Has anyone else even considered this possibility? I can't say that I've heard it, anywhere else.

The Amish and Mennonites have maintained a culture that is even more separate from the mainstream of U.S. society than most Muslims. However, those groups are extremely pacific, and present no threat to their "English" neighbors.
The U.S. government has aggressively pursued the destruction of nominally Christian isolated groups that it regarded as dangerous. The Aryan Nation exists almost completely within prisons, having its outside organization driven to bankruptcy. Everyone remembers the destruction of the Branch Davidians, who had threatened no one. Ever since the establishment of the Mormon church, the U.S. government has aggressively treated any sect of that religion that supports polygamy as criminal and dangerous.
On the other hand, the Nation of Islam, whose leader Louis Farrakhan has repeatedly encouraged violence against whites and Christians, remains untouched. There are more than 30 training camps across the U.S. for Islamic groups that promote violent jihad, and train young men to be warriors for the faith, yet the U.S. government has taken no action to shut them down.
Maybe the Borg are among us already. Assimilation into Islam is inevitable, and resistance is futile.
In five years minus weekends, holidays, office partys that means the big emphasis has produced two per working day. Maybe one office wonk assigned to Syra in the State Department? Or is he/she taking Fridays off.
But honestly I was at an event in Milwaukee last week and a group from black lives matter showed up, standing on the flag. This was the same group that burned the flag at the GOP debate last week as well. When someone from our group asked what they were doing, they simply stated that it was their right. While it is their right it also showed that they hate America. Why else would a group show up to a peaceful event that had nothing to do with them. It destroyed the event. We were a small group and many of us felt that it would look like we were part of the flag burning group if we stayed. I could not be a part of it.
That said, I don't believe we should be bring in these refugees. If we must do something setting up a guarded safe zone somewhere in the middle east is a better choice and would limit the risk to America.
There could be a time & place for burning our flag. If our government becomes something other than a representative republic (which we are close to) then burning that flag with the idea of establishing a new free nation could be acceptable. At that point however it would likely be illegal to burn it and one may be jailed for doing so. But burning our flag because you are not getting enough entitlements or want the minimum wage raised is a slap in the face to every citizen that has fought for this country as well as all of us that pay the taxes that these people are stealing from us. Of course this is my opinion. :)
