- 1Posted by mminnick 10 years, 9 months agoThat would be Putins goal if he cannot bring the Crimea into Russia proper. With a 60% ethnic Russian population, that might be his ultimate goal. Get them independent, then get them to ask to be included in Russia. Like Texas did . You know, Independent, then state.
