Governments entering the market

So, we see how the governments become 'players' in the market, how they become 'monopolies' by virtue of having the 'Upper Hand'. And noone is supposed to question all this, since after all, why would the Government be interested in earning any profit? Arn't they the 'friends of the People'? Aren't they the biggest non-profit oriented institution in the country?

I believe that Governments have absolutely no right to behave like business corporations, entering into contracts, making and selling things. I believe that according to the Social Contract theory it is their duty to maintain law and order in the society and that is it. Public welfare is ensuring the safety of the public, not making decisions for them. Public is not a 5 year old kid, who needs to be told what is good for them. Perhaps, it is time we went back and reminded that the governments are our body guards and nothing else. Man was born free and deserves to die free from any shackles.

Unfortunately the idiot sheep ARE a bunch of 5 year olds waiting to be fed their next meal (by the gov), their next thought (by the gov), and even their next emotion (induced by lies of course). They are spoon fed blobs...who vote.

It just shows how far this once great country has fallen. John Wayne would be disgusted, as would Pres. Reagan. What happened to the rugged individualist?

Tha image of the rugged individualist (John Wayne, front-and-center), has been dragged through the muddy waters of liberal studies at our college universities. Don’t you know Nixon created a generation of cynics that led to a renewed interest in free markets and individualism? Yup. We are only interested in pulling ourselves up by the bootstrap when we are paranoid about our government. I got an A on a recent history exam for memorizing these talking points. Now,if you will excuse me, I think I will have to go read Atlas Shrugged before part 3 comes out just to remember who the hell I am.

      Are you sure?
Or are we confusing the majority who have been led to believe that philosophy, values, economics, jobs and politics are completely unrelated. We know man's sociology. When the recession started, majority thought it wouldn't affect them. When wars are waged, they fail to realise the impact it will have on their monthly budget. They have the mind required to see the fallacy. The protests, revolutions we see all over the world are proof enough. They know something is wrong. They just can't make the connection yet.

Then why don't they TRY to make the connection?? This is what bothers me the most....some people DO know something isn't right, but completely lack the gumption and fortitude to do some self educating to piece the puzzle together. I find this so frustrating about others I can't even tell you. They're lazy and half asleep and, really, no better than the rest of the sleeping sheep when you get right down to it. A=A!

Some of them make the connection. Tell me, are we not a part of the public? Have we failed to make a connection? And if we have, is it not our duty to make them see the pitfall ahead? We can't go Wyatt or Midas or Hammond on them because honestly, somethings are just not possible. Yes, it is true that half the people around me serve one half-crazed notion or the other. But there exists the other half, that is ready to listen. Believe it or not, 50% people around you are Cheryll Taggarts. They have their reasons intact, it the facts that they are missing sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously. And this is where our fight for reason begins.

People are too busy working to pay 35% or more of their salary into "the public good" and their hard-earned devalued dollars are continuing their devaluation to keep us from collapse while lining the pockets of bankers on WS and govt cronies. so many take a second job. Let's see, which would I pick with my free time- entertainment or free market study and politics and organizing with groups that have an impossible task of turning back the tide of govt corruption and over-reach?
"Dancing With the Stars" it is then
