Carly Fiorino is looking more and more like a serious candidate. I thought Couric clearly looked frustrated.

Katie Couric is fluff. She's always been fluff. Putting on an oversized pair of intellectual glasses is NOT going to make her a serious reporter no matter how much she conned some network into paying her. I'm OK with that--the money part--but it's laughable when she believes her own hype, and she believes it to the point where she goes head to head with a serious, savvy business man or woman and expects to 'catch' that person with a gotcha question. No matter what we think of Carly Florina in her tenure at H-P, she is a savvy business woman. And to your point Rich, yes, she did indeed make Katie Couric look the fool that she is.

She does not ask where these "issues" come from. Who made Global Warming an issue? Who ensures that it remains "settled science" in spite of unsettling evidence?

We don't need clean coal. We need commitment to stop the destruction of coal plants. The one across the river from me was just blown up. Not just shut down, but completely destroyed.

Once the coal-fired electric plants are gone, with no feasible replacement, what are we going to do? Import electricity from China?

She did a great job bringing the conversation back to Obama and his disastrous policies. I would have preferred she said Climate Change was a non issue but her responses worked politically.

slick debater. In fact, she has not shown consistently that she is pro-innovation and anti-regulation. She could have shown some courage on this issue and said the emperor is wearing no clothes. She chose not too. So-when push comes to shove as President-would she appease popular thinking or act from conviction of truth and science?

Yes, Carly "looks" like a candidate. She is a slick, high dollar magazine with a good marketing approach. She will say anything necessary to gain power and wealth. Send her to Russia to "run" against Putin and don't let her return. Don't let her loot hollow the shell of America the way she did to HP.

The GOP may just use her to attack Hillary and then hand the nomination to their boy Jeb. What a mess.

Correction. The Government Party will tell the GOP what part they play and hand them the script. Boehner will say Yes Sir Yes Sir Three barfs full and comply. The great quadrennial street theater starring one party with two faces continues.

I'm still hoping for Jack Bauer. Experienced, Overqualified if anything, Not presently employed, solves any issue in one day flat and buys his own bullets.

So what he was born in Canada. Didn't stop Obeyme.

Wonder how Jack Bauer would deal with Iran? There was talk a while back of a movie but I haven't heard anything recently.

Buy more bullets? On a serious note we had an old saying in the Infantry and related units which came about when we wondered why the folks back home were sending us where this time. Then realized once we signed up it was do the job as assigned. The folks back home held the real responsibility.

"Kill them all let G-- sort them out."

I'm being sensitive to the really religious some.

But then we were supposedly the answer of last resort.

The real answer is 'ask his script writers' They are the best in the business. The Government's are the worst.

If the government actually had script writers and tried to follow a script, that would be an improvement.

As it is now, it just flails about randomly like a particularly twitchy giant amoeba.
